never tried one but i "hear" that they suck. i would go for someone nearby to custom tune before i went to an out of the box PCM.

Don't go with one of their PCM's. Nothing but problems.

i have one and had no problems the only reason for buying one though is the fact that it is open and it WILL be custom tuned this summer by ZZP cause everyone else in this area ****s up there tunes even all the pro shops and most of the shop eff up the RWD tunes what would they do to a FWD car

Still wouldn't run one. The some people have good luck with them, but the majority of customers have issues. If I am gonna pay X amount of dollars for something I want it to work right the first time. NOT...F-O-U-R times.

Just get a DHP PCM or have someone tune your car around the area that deals with the 3800 platform. You can get them @ 3800 Performance - high performance aftermarket car parts for your Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, Impala, Regal, Bonneville, and V6 F-body!!

gotboost3...do you have a 2003 by chance? I have a '03 DHP PCM I would be willing to let go. PM if you want.

but the thing is that all the shops around here ive heard a lot worse things about there tuning services than anything ive heard about ZZP

I have had no problem with ZZP's PCM's.... however if I did I would be right with the ones that have.
I do have a problem when they say the majority have had problems..... use the search on this forum and it's the same people that say they don't like it.... (but there's nothing wrong with that).
Going back to this post ... I think we are talking about a used PCM.... and if you did your homework I would probably not buy a used PCM or if you do cross your fingers.
Don't think most shops (at least in this area) can tune...

Had a ZZP PCM for 6 months with zero issues... I enjoy the speed limiter removed the most!

I've had a ZZP pcm for about half a year now also. 0 problems. I've always thought of getting someone from my local board to custom tune it, just to see what could be done better.

I recently had a ZZP pcm with no issues. I think for the most part you get a few guys saying bad things and everyone on the forums seems to run with it. I replaced it with "another brand" that everyone seems to say is the best. I received this pcm and when I went to install it there was a broken off bolt stuck in the threads where the plugs go. Ok, I fixed it but a pita. Now I have surges in my idle after start(900 rpm--1500rpm) back and forth for half a min. Im not going to say the name of the pcm because Im hoping they will make it right. So far there customer support sucks. Another thing that erked me from the start of this transaction was no ETA email or tracking number so Im left thinking....did they receive my money, are they away and Im not going to get this for another few weeks?? I mean wtf, when buying online its only proper to send the person a quick email stating when your item should be shipped. GRRR

hmm sounds like its more opinion than fact when it comes to hating zzp pcms because i had a friend with a ion redline and zzp did a great dyno tune on his car so i dont see how their shelf pcms would suck....his LSJ made 300 whp thats pretty good for a sc 4banger

Will @ Overkill>>>> his words; We are a Canadian distributor for ZZPerformance that is correct. Our PCMs are entirely different products however.
