Anybody else ever had this happen? After the engine is warm, when I start up, the RPMs will jump around for a second or two and then even out. It reminds me of something trying to catch it's breath. My air filter is fine. Just replaced it and it was doing it before and after.

It doesn't do it on a cold start. That's as smooth as can be.

Ok thank you. I'll do some digging around. I haven't really done my own repairs before but there's no time like the present. Thanks again.

pick up a haynes or chiltons manual and follow the diagnostic steps in it.

oh and dont forget to try seafoam. the stuff can work miracles sometimes. 1/3 in the brake booster vaccuum line, 1/3 in the tank and 1/3 in the valve covers (followed by an oil change). follow the instructions on the back of the can

do you need one of these manuals to do the actual repairs or just figure out what's wrong?
