hi everyone. Im new. I have a 2004 grand prix gt. Took my car in to have a swaybar link put in, somehow the first one fell out (how the hell does that happen?) I go to pick my car up, and my cluster does not work. Car starts drives just like it should. checked all fuses, seem to be good. all other interior lights work fine. radio, hvac windows all work fine. Crazy thing, is that when I put my key to the last setting before it starts, the SES light is lit but once I start the car it goes away and the cluster does nothing. Is the cluster a common failure with these cars? How hard, is it to change? I searched, but didnt seem to find what I was looking for. Also, does the cluster deal with the miles or is that kept else where? If this has already been answered please, point me in the correct direction.

    thanks

Not sure on the '04 but almost sounds like an ignition switch issue, kind of weird it happened after being in the shop though

My car does kinda start funny sometimes. It like starts and dies. If i hold the starter a little longer she seems to fire up good. Do the 04's need to be held a little longer do you know?
