    hi. can anybody explain the purpose of the fuel pump resistor on a 2000 gtp?thanks, jim

    It allows the fuel pump to run at a variable speed by reducing the voltage to it at lower RPMs. It also does an excellent job of dying at the most inconvenient of times, leaving most folks stranded and confused.
