They usually say they can get 20 degrees of timing without seeing any kr or somehting like that. I think stock commands 16? degrees of timing at wot? But bumping up your timing is always free horsepower unless it creates knock. At cruising speeds you see a lot more timing, by increasing it even further, you can get some mpg out of this.

A lot of people are in the argument of whether to run more boost until you knock and pull timing at wot or whether to run less boost and increasing timing at wot for more power. The more this argument comes up the more I'm a believer in more timing and less boost. Both ways have made good power though.
