Looking to upgrade the headlights on my 97 as the light output is abysmal at best on a sunny day. This website has bulb kits to upgrade to LED's. Are any of these good and is it worthwhile? If not what other options are out there? I want something I can just plug in and go whether it's a complete headlight assembly or the bulbs. I tried to contact classy retro fit and never received a response.

Try contacting them through their Facebook page. That’s how I’ve contacted them.

I have a set of ZZP LED fogs if you're interested. I used them along with ZZP main LEDs which were pretty bright. They were plug and play.

I used Sylvania HIgh Output LEDs on the high beams and HIDs on the low beams, the length of the bulb was too long for the HID to fit in the space for the low beam. No issue with Sylvanias in the lower driving lights. Those by the way, make a huge difference to seeing curbs etc in wet weather.

PS: All 4 LEDs were plug and play, the HIDs needed ballasts of course, that are now secured to the upper rail near the radiator.

Stock lighting on these cars suck, even right down to the dome lights. My GP I am still with HIDs, but my '15 Explorer I am using Seabright LEDs which I purchased off Amazon after doing some research & from some recommendations on the Explorer board. It was a huge improvement over the factory halogens which were terrible. I do wish they were slightly brighter still, but thats just the limitations of the factory housings. So far so good December will be a year with them.

I'd consider replacing they headlight housing. If you can't see well with the standard / basic Sylvania bulbs (not the Ultras) then you probably have totally worn out & yellowed lenses. Your light is probably being diffused / scattered all over the place.

The factory headlights are actually totally fine & sufficient, as long as they are in good condition.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'll be sure to update with what direction I'm taking and if I have any other questions. This is the car my daughter drives and I want to make sure she can see better since she will be driving much more at night this winter.

My '15 Explorer I am using Sealights LED bulbs in my headlights. Purchased them off Amazon after some recommendations on the Explorer board. They are 200x better than the stock halogen lights and am happy with them even nearly a year later, however I still wish they were slightly brighter. At that point your just stuck with the limitations of the housings. Factory it uses 9005 halogen bulbs & a shutter to switch from low beam to high beam. As the '04+ GP guys here know 9005 is the bulb for the highs so that just show how crappy the housings are in these explorers. Meanwhile I am happy with the light output of the stock halogen projectors on my '12 Fusion. I think its the same thing with the Grand Prix of this generation. Your just at the mercy of the housings. I've been through a number of different setups with mine over the years. The only one I've ever been fully happy with is the TSX retrofitted projectors with 4300k hids. They light everything up nicely and evenly.
