    Hi All ,

Its been raining non stop here the last few days. I got home today and noticed my regals windows fogged up . I checked the passenger footwheel and there carpet is soaked.
Could be the sunroof, but i thought that drained on the driver side. Anything i should look for to see where it might be leaking?

bought my cowl fix on ebay for my regal. iirc its the same part for a gtp, 8 bucks and 15 minutes of time. good time to change or add the cabin air filter.

It is possible for water to enter the interior through doors when the weather liner behind the trim panel has an area where the butyl isn't stuck to door shell. Leak questions always get that same response first though. If a paper towel stuffed between door trim panel and door sill trim panel gets wet, its the door.

Avoid parking in uphill orientation if possible when heavy or extended rain is forecast, to minimize the cowl leak.

If one of the four sunroof drains stops up, headliner may get wet somewhere. Compressed air blown gently up the hoses to clear, from the wheelwell ends. I haven't seen a sunroof "leak" end up in the floor.

Just a couple tips from over a decade of 99 GP use plus GM leak training as a tech. Some of your electronics may be swimming under that carpet.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

Last night i went outside and cleaned up the debris that was on the cowl. I found that the screen on the passenger side had broken. I pushed it back up and sprayed over the lower part with some flex seal . worst case ill grab a new one from the JY.
One company appears to have the part for cheaper, i just need some confirmation on what the correct number is for the regal since GM parts lists the 15794785 as not fitting the regal .

While I can't personally confirm it will work on a Regal, a couple of Amazon reviews state it will work on multiple w-body models. Take that for what it's worth.

Awesome! If you have a GM W-Body car (Chevy Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick Regal, Olds Intrigue, etc.) This is just the thing to keep rain water from soaking your cabin air filter before ending up in your heater box and all over the floor. Simple installation and fixes a bad design!
This worked great on a 1999 Buick Regal LS. I had to modify my vent cover slightly by cutting plastic off of it so that it wouldn't press up against the new deflector cover, which was easily done by using a small saw to cut it away so that it would fit.

Thanks, if it was just a 10 dollar part, id buy it and take the chance, but at 60 bucks, its more of a risk.

I can 100% confirm it fits a Regal. I added it.

Cheapest way to get one, hit the yard and look at regals and gp's/montes till you find one. It's a dumb piece of plastic, guy should let you nearly have it free

Passenger side right above where the cabin filter would sit.

This happened in my GTP. It had no sunroof. I got this answer (of course) after I killed the car.

Get the cowl part. $80 is cheaper than a new interior carpet.

If you go the route of looking in a junkyard, I had the best luck locating one in an impala (06+ ish). it seems all the other similar vehicles that were any older did not have the cowl piece at my local junk yards.

only 80 bucks is robbery. under 10 off the internet is a win.

last time my floor got wet i pulled it up in the pass front then put some wood sticks to hold it open to air. then left a fan blowing on it. if left wet it will stink like hell. if it does smell already, baking soda will kill the smell. just sprinkle it on the rug, use a shop vac or car was vac to clean it up later on. dont use the house vac, the b/s will kill the vacuum.
