ChevroSys Scan Free - Apps on Google Play

if you own a elm327 or the likes, this is free with a droid device. ive got it, works damn good for free. reads all codes pretty much, plus live data. can even go in and clear codes in abs history, then drive and wait for the light to come back on, re scan, the new code is the issue.

thats the deal. but the mini's tend to be hit or miss. theres a longer one that tends to work better.

then theres another brand bafx? iirc. its like 20 and will work. BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII Car Diagnostic Code Reader Scanner Tool | eBay

yes it reads abs codes, p, c, and u codes.

Got my scanner and got scanned the abs codes and this is what came up could it be just a break in the left front wheel speed harness ?? causing all the lights to come up on the dash

    Codes
C0035 - Left front wheel speed sensor - current
    C0896 - Electronic suspension control - history

damaged wire, or the hub is bad. sensor is built in the hub. if bad they tend to have some play. jack car up push and pull at 12 and 6 feeling for play.

Found the broken wire fixed it and the wheel has no play in it but the lights are still up on the dash so could the hub be the problem

if using the app i posted, you can clear history. then drive the car if the abs light comes back on, re scan. that new code will be the relevant issue.

most of the time if the issue has been fixed, the abs lights will go out on their own.

ok, you have active codes then, google them and see what its for.

If you can't clear them, it most likely means they're current. ABS. codes usually "clear" when you shut the car off. The codes are still there, but typically the light will go out unless it's actively seeing an issue.

C0035 indicates an issue with the speed sensor. That's generally pretty straight-forward. Either the sensor is bad, cannot read the hub, or cannot communicate with the module. Check wires and connectors. If all is good there, suspect the hub.

C0896/8 are voltage/power supply codes for the module. I'd start by finding a wiring diagram and check the wires with a meter. You're looking for the 12v power supply, and the - Ground circuit.

    lord you got gremlins.

drive it a few days and rescan it, maybe something will show up.

you can also nail the brakes in some gravel or dirt to see if the abs is working or not.
