    Hey all,

I have a base 08' grand prix and my door locks so not work properly. the key fob will trigger remote start and open the trunk but wont lock or unlock the doors at all. I've replaced the battery to no avail, the issue seems to be from the car itself. Inside the car the lock/unlock switch works but not every time. It will unlock then if I try to lock at may or may not do it all the way and varies per door, then if I go to unlock again it usually only works on one or two doors and never fully unlocks somehow.

I'm lost on the solution to this issue and because of it, even though the car revives the signal for the remote start, it will not work without first locking the doors and arming the alarm. if anyone has experience with this issue and how to fix it let me know. I don't want to pay to get it diagnosed because I don't have the time or money to do that at the moment.

That's definitely odd. Might try looking at any fuses/relays with descriptions relating to the doors and making sure they're good/clean. After that, maybe sit in the car while running and cycle the interior lock buttons a bunch of times to see if it wears off any small internal corrosion? You can also try the key fob while sitting there after that, to see if you notice more responsive action? Aside from that, maybe manually move the locks a few times, and see if they react better?

These are all just some non-invasive things before diving into any wiring issues, like chasing the grounds for those circuits.

Check the passenger fuse box. Its on the right side of the dash. Mine had a blown fuse. Door lock fuse on the top near the rap relay.
