So Yesterday I scored a Gen V blower for only $90. It looks to be in good shape and I don't feel any play in the snout. My question for you guys would be should a rebuild this thing and either paint or powder coat or leave it as is? The rotor pack looked okay there was a few very small scratch marks here and there which i'm assuming is normal? Is there any place that i could get the rotors refinished if they needed

when I swapped to a gen 5 I rebuilt the snout and that was it. even that was unnecessary.

not that i know of but its a lot of work. you need to sand it with finer and finer paper till its got a polished finish. rotary tools would be you best friend.

That looks really good. did you just paint it or did you sand it at all?

brake cleaner and a wire brush, then rubbed it down with duplicolor prep spray, then hit it with primer, then like 5 coats of yellow and then the last 1/2 a can of clear i had, like 5 coats as well.

cant find the dirty pic but i got it this clean

    primed

    paint and clear coat.

I call that Yellow with a capital 'Y'.
So jealous. I really wish I could get the sunburst orange metallic in an engine enamel to use on mine XD

Haha. Yes I've seen an orange or two, but I'm sure they wouldn't be the same exact orange as my car's body, which is the issue XD I don't want two different oranges going on. That is a nice job you did there

you can buy paint that is your cars paint code. paint code is on the rpo sticker on the trunk lid. R&E Color Coats, Custom Matched Aerosol, Spraycan, 11 Ounce

i bought paint from these guys to paint my fender flares on my tahoe, perfect match.
