Tonight I got in my car ('97 GTP) and the dash lights flashed, and went out, I played with the switch, and could get the3m to flash on, but not stay for but a few seconds, and then they are dim. I have checked the wiring (was doing some work in the door and kick panel today) everything looks fine. I had the issue before, and can't remember what I did to fix it. Anyone got any ideas?

the rheostat in the dimmer likely has a bad spot in it.

looks like a short, not enough to pop the fuse, but enough for the wires to get really hot to the touch, just how I want to spend my afternoon looking at a wiring harness argh
