So, I just bought a '98 GTP Supercharged and the passenger window does not work. I tore into the door and tested the regulator by disconnecting the factory power plug from the motor and running a straight 12v to the regulator. It goes up and down when reversing the polarity just fine. I then grounded my test light and stuck the probe into each connection of the factory plug one at a time and pressed the door switch mounted on the passenger door and the test light lite up indicating that switch was closing the circuit just fine in up and down mode. But when plug it all up, the passenger's switch does not work the window. So, I stuck the test light again in each connection of the factory plug going to that regulator and went to the drivers door switch, pressed the up and down and got zero response from the test light at the plug. This makes me think that there is a grounding issue caused by the driver's side switch perhaps? The passenger switch sends power to the regulator when I test on that side of the car but the regulator still doesn't work when plugged up. If I am getting 12v to each side of the connector when pressing the window switch on the passenger's side, then the window should work, and the only reason it would not work is because the other side of the plug would not be acting as a correct ground. I am thinking to go ahead and replace the master switch which contains both the driver's and passenger's window switches and hope that solves it. Does anyone have any experience with this on these cars?
