I accepted a new position for work, and have to start driving my GTP once again (It typically gets 500-1000mi a year of use)

I am currently getting about 27mpg and was curious on any suggestions, or mods (ubend delete, etc) that might help a bit while on the highway. This is only for a few months until I pick up a
2nd car as a daily driver for highway use.

Car is stock with a homemade CAI.

Thanks. I was figuring it was not too bad for a 18yr old car, but curious if I could squeeze a bit more out of it for the next few months.

27 mpg is good on the highway, however 30 mpg average is easily obtainable, of course driving habits are the biggest factor in your MPG. I average 30 mpg at around 70-75 mpg, the only modification I have is a front Plog and a ported rear manifold, stainless magnaflow resonator and K & N drop in filter (stock air box), 2000 GTP. I keep my front tires around 34 psi, and 30 psi in the rear. Most of all a steady and smooth foot on the accelerator plays the biggest part for obtaining best MPG.

id be happy as can be with 27 hwy. your a flat lander, so its not gonna get much better, even with some mods.

i just got 25 hwy with hills at 70 mph to and from the drag strip last week. i got mods and a tuner, its not gonna get much better for me. not that im complaining about it. thats a respectable number really for the hills i got here.

and i run my tires at 40 psi all around.

    Increase tire pressure.
Remove unnecessary weight from the car.
Advance timing at cruise. 40-45° gives a nice mileage bump.

My drive to work is all freeway, and I see 26-7mpg all day long, cruising around 120km/h (75mph). I do notice that when I keep the speed down to 100km/h (60mph), I see at least an extra 50km (30 miles) out of the tank.

I'd be surprised if you can get much better than this.

Best thing you can do is look at the terrain and keep the rpm as low as possible w/o bogging in 4th. For example I ended up being relocated for a while into the woods. What this did was put me off the highway at 70-80mph and onto roads that were 40-45mph. I drove 45-55mph and got better mileage than I did at 70+.

If the terrain isn't hills etc..you can do better by going a bit slower.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
