Hello everyone, Im having power issues with my 07 base GP. When turning the key my car completely dies out, It'll start out with interior lights and regular beeping etc, when I turn the key EVERYTHING dies. Stays dead for a few seconds or minutes before coming back to life again on it own. Problem started a few days ago and when it did crank it would be prolonged maybe an extra second or two longer making it awkward sounding(crank). I do hear a click when everything dies out and the clock/date resets every time. What say you gurus? Battery was replaced a few months ago. Thanks all!

Double check all grounds and battery connections at the battery and starter.

Another easy test is to stick a digital multi meter directly on the battery. If the voltage just tanks and goes straight to say 2-8 volts the battery has dropped a cell. But if the voltage stays the same and the car still "clicks, loses power upon starting" you have a power/ground problem with likely the cables.

Sounds like a bad battery. But do a FFDP said. Bad ground or bad alternator may be taking the battery out.

I had the same thing happen and didn't realize it was a loose connector until I went to do a voltage drop test. I'd start there. Grab a multi-meter and have some fun!

Its neither the starter not the alternator. Alternator has nothing to do with starting the car. It only works once the car is running. The fact that the clock resets means you have a battery problem. Either the battery itself or connections.
