So I recently came across this post:

    https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/v...-rejuvenation/

I was wondering if anyone had tried anything like this to fix our dimming huds?

I have access to a constant voltage power supply, so I'm thinking of giving it a go! My only question is that I only have 15v and the article references 30v... So I may have to find access to a 30v power supply first.

I know this could shorten the life of the display, but I have about five of these sitting around, so why not??

Also thinking about adding hud windshield film and not sure if anyone had success with that.

    I'll update as I go!

the hud issue is known and a documented fix is in the how to section. The photocell ends up having a cold soldier joint.

Thanks Bill. Unfortunately I've already done that and drilled larger hole for sun inlet. I might try hud film first and then try the voltage spike to see what happens, and because these things are amusing to play with!
