Re: Stalling and Banging into Gear After TC Lockup
Guys and Gals, I recently replaced my transmission lines which went pretty well but now the lines are leaking at the fittings where they go into the pan. I gave them each a good tug and they seem to be in there well.
Is there a rubber seal or something where the line goes in that could need replacement? Or could there be a need to replace the fittings going into the pan.
I fixed a leak but a couple more sprung :th_scratchhead:

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on why the lines/fittings could be leaking at the transmission after a new line install. They were fine before - Let me know if you have anything to offer.

Anyone know why new lines would leak at the transmission? Can I apply rtv or some other sealant to stop the slow drip of trans fluid? I'd really appreciate some input.
Otherwise, would replacing the fittings be the next step? Or returning the new lines I installed?

I replaced the fittings with some from Napa and it appears the leaks are now resolved. It looks like there are small rubber o-rings inside the fittings. Given they are almost 10 years old, they probably just couldn't make a nice seal after the old lined were replaced.
Hopefully this can help someone in the future.
