So just got a text from my wife saying the car was surging under acceleration. I told her I would look into it when I get home and the next text was that the car lost all electrical power while driving. My question is there something that could tie the surging and the power loss together? Perhaps a bad ICM, or not likely but a bad ground to the body?
I am more of a mechanical guy and not so much a electrical savy one. Any and all pointers are welcomed in advance.
Btw the care is a 06 GT with 136k on her.

Lost all power? No lights? Anything? Or won't crank? Cranks but won't start?

I'd start by removing and cleaning both battery cables and then make sure they go back on nice and tight. Then I'd check the grounds on the trans. Loose/corroded cables can cause all kinds of strange things to happen.

I'm hoping it is a easy fix such as a loose ground. Bronco, she was driving at the time of loss power, that being gauges, radio, etc.
Could a corroded ground cause the surging and loss of power? Or am I looking at two separate causes.
    Thank you, once again.

bad ground will cause all sorts of funky issues. check all grounds and battery terminals. make sure all of the relays and fuses are seated properly.

BTW- Whatever my wife says happened I usually just go by "then it died". listening to a woman (besides Spazz) will probably lead you in the wrong direction on the car.

Unclear -- Did it die, as in no power what-so-ever, wont crank etc OR did it just loose the radio/gauges/accessories?

Based on that, I'm with the others about a bad ground or connection.

Just the electronics. She was still able to drive, then everything just came back on while still driving.

If its running, go around and wiggle all the wires and hopefully it will stop running.

So a little update.. I drove the car and noticed the "chugging" my wife was talking about. It starts at about 35mph through 50mph when I'm barely giving it any gas. If I power through it, it goes away. So I decided to clean the MAF, TB, change the plug wires (plus were done earlier) and clean my grounding connections. Tops of the coil pack towers were clean, no cracks that I saw.
Took it for a drive and it is still doing the same. It seems to do it after heavy traffic (maybe heat related?). Anything else I should check guys n gals?

What's your temp gauge saying. My wife's 06 had a clogged radiator and it want getting hot enough to over heat but hot enough to shut the AC compressor off till it cooled down.

She also had a similar electrical issue and it would say charging system error on the DIC. Ended up having to replace both battery clamps and it fixed it.

Temp gauge is around 200, (got a bigger radiator and water pump within the last year). Did the charging system error cause a surge as I had described? I'm wanting to say it is fuel or spark related but not wanting to throw money at problems that aren't the cause.
    Thank you.

So driving the car and all the electronics shut off and came back on again.. first time it said "check fuel injection system", this time it said "service theft system". This car is more temperamental
    than my ex girlfriend!

If you haven't yet, check the ignition switch.
