Ok, so I just left the store with dinner. This happened before, but I turned the key off and went away for weeks..now like a day..and now it just stays on, lol.

I looked at the price for a rebuilt one. Do I need any numbers off it or anything? Dealer programming? Where is the it, under the glove box? Man, of all the things. The magnasteer also stopped working, bleh.

Check for a code. Looks like it is pointing at an ABS issue.

Found one with matching numbers online for like $50. I'm not sure if I can just use any 04+, but it's PN# 15242477.

I'll go back out tonight and check codes. I unplugged it and everything looks clean. Maybe I can open it and look for poor soldering too.

Edit: No codes show without the condition. There's two drivers here. I was going to have her take it around the block w/o magnasteer, see about taking the Blazer tomorrow. After she moved the seat, all the blinking and dinging stopped. I got all cramped seated, turned the key several times and the lights stay off. Tomorrow could tell, but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe they are ABS codes, which needs a special reader.

under the seat is a yellow plug near the floor on the seat frame. unplug it a few times to clean it, they tend to act up time to time. sets a air bag code, but maybe its doing more then that in your car.

I'd thought of the ABS codes. There was a thread on it. I thought maybe it'd throw a general ABS fault pointing at the wheels, but no luck.

Talked to the guy with the BCM, said they hardly go bad (unless in accident). Makes sense cus everything else works; locks, alarm/horn, interior lights, etc.

Yeah, I'll check that tonight. Everything works w/o lighting up the dash today. I'll let ya know.

    Thanks Scotty, Bronco

One thing that might help is checking to see if anything is grounding out to the frame of a seat, that's really the only thing that would move...

I went and got another BCM from JY. Hard to find, but plugged in. The DIC said starting disabled (I think the module has to match VIN). Right now I'm just running the old BCM with the dash lit up and no magnasteer. Seems ok sometimes, but it's intermittent. I opened the old one. Everything inside is almost all SMT soldered then conformal coated. I'd say it's not serviceable.

I'm not sure what to do next for checking a ground fault under/around the seat. I can pull the seat I guess. I really want to point at a speed sensor and need to inspect.

Hope that's the case, cus I have no idea where to get this thing programmed beyond a dealer.

if fiddling with the plug under the seat didnt fix it, id get it scanned. theres gonna be a code to lead you in the right direction. maybe a list of codes. best to clear them, then see what code comes back first, then follow that code.

your gonna need a tech 2 or snap on scanner to get to these codes.

Mine does most of that, minus the ABS stuff, atleast 3 times a week. Then most of the gauges turn off. Might be something with the Costar Bluetooth unit I have. PITA....****
