Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
Mine temp seems to float from 189 to 206 on the DIC in Minnesota also. Saw 213 last night with some city driving after my 40 mile interstate run. I think an external cooler would be a great add. Just have not done it yet.

agreed that a cooler would be nice but this hot weather should be going away soon
Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
Running warmer on the way home tonight.

Mine ran right at 200F. Engine Coolant temp was around 205F. Had the A/C barkin all the way home.
No slip or code, gave it back the wife. Needless to say, she was not happy that I fixed it for now, lol. Looks like the new car sales jockys will have to wait once again, lol.

dang thats high.
My big diesel pickup typically only runs around 170F, why the heck do these things run so hot!
Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
Trucks usually have external coolers.

I hit 220* after about 60 minutes of driving in the summer. I stay out of the city as she gets to hot to fast. IMO, the factory tranny cooler on these cars is garbage. Ad an aftermarket cooler and you should see temps of 170-180. I need to get off my ass and install the one I have sitting at home.
Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
Yeah, looks like this is next on the list. I'll check out the oriely to see what they have

Here's some info that I have been compiling over the past while..... http://chrisb.users.superford.org/Gr...on_Cooler.html
B&M 70264 is what I went with.
Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
I added one last year to my 05' GTP and the temps went from the 220-230 range down to about 170-190 by the time I get home. The transmission coolers in these radiators do suck. I also had an undersized radiator as well it was 5/8" thick, just installed a 7/8" radiator (was supposed to be 1") and the temps seem to have evened out. The trans cooler is stand alone so I didn't expect it to change. I did have an issue Wednesday. I noticed I needed to go ahead and replace the lines since they were a year old and that's something I always recommend on regular trans hose and clamps. Well going down the street I was on it pretty hard and about the time it was at the top of 2nd all I see is a huge cloud behind me. I coasted the rest of the way to the house and could feel it slipping a little and had trans fluid dropping from all under the bodywork. The back of the car was covered as I discovered when I tried to lift the trunk and my hand slipped into the spoiler. So I cut the line and put new clamps on it until this weekend when I change the hose and look for something better. I lost 7 quarts in that time. So check and change those trans cooler lines even if you are using something better.

Re: Pressure Control Solenoid replace
drove it yesterday in the million degree weather we had here in MN. My temps stayed locked at 199 to 201 with the A/C barking. All is good so far but time will tell.
