Planning to purchase headers for my 01 gtp and i am concerned about passing emissions. Can you pass emissions with headers? i like the reviews and price of the speed daddy ones but am not sure how these fair in the inspection/emissions test. Advice would be appreciated, still learning all of these things. Thank you!

What kind of emissions test do you have to pass?

Sniffer test and visual or just sniffer/ODB 2.

If you have to pass a sniffer test, you must install a aftermarket cat converter in the headers downpipe.

headers dont come with a cat. heres one for 45 bucks. weld it in, or band clamps will also work. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Universal-...-/311364906194

a 01 you need a rear o2 and the cat codes deleted, as well as the cat test killed in the tune.

I live in a non-emissions (visual only) county in PA and for our visual all they are supposed to look for is things like the cat, egr (if so equipped), etc. I don't think the headers themselves should fail you as long as you have the proper emissions equipment installed.

Ask your local testing station to see if they use the sniffer in the tail pipe. Where I'm at we just test the gas cap and do a visual inspection for the emissions sticker.

I'm in Delaware County, PA and getting my car inspected this Saturday. It has SD headers and the cat that Scotty posted. I'm sure it varies by county as far as the testing method, but I will update after it gets done.
