I was curious to know if anyone has a ssic and could tell me the gains they got from it? Also has anyone ever had a core go bad and ruin the motor?

The more heat you make, the more chances of knock. Having the intercooler will help keep temps down for sure, gains will always be there but every car is different.

I don't hear of many cores failing.

How does that make sense? Headers only and a ssic on gas with a 3.2? Do you believe with our higher compression it's like .2 drop in pulley over a l67?

Every car is different, it's not always about gains,, think about it as a supporting mod,, what if something happens and let's say your car starts knocking out of no where (could be a problem within the tune, bad gas etc that IC could save your motor.

If I'm constantly scanning kr and afr how is that not safe? If something happens like you said I'll let off or shut the car off depending on how bad it is. The way I look at it is how much hp im going to gain for the $. I'm already at the point where if I had the amount of money I have in this 3800 into a chevy 350 I'd have twice the horsepower not that my grand prix doesn't run well just saying. It is a summer car to i drive it 6 months out of the year I put 1,000 miles on it last summer that's why it's been built for 3 years and I've put 4,000 miles on it lol I don't drive much and I have a trailblazer I drive in the winter the car hardly sees rain like In the middle of the summer if I just spent 5 hours waxing it and polishing the rims I'll drive the trailblazer and let it sit in the garage it's babied lol.

I've been there done that. I'm telling you - ssic is better then nothing. You WILL gain power by being able to run more boost (smaller pulley) or increasing the timing up top and cruise.
You said you can't run a fsic. So a ssic is better then nothing

only time I wouldn't recommend a ssic is when you can get a fsic. Major difference.
    You will like it.

Injector spacers because you can't use the modded rails?

Zzp's injectors spacers because my mod'd rails are bolted to the top of the supercharger where the supercharger bolts to the LIM. Cuz of the ssm90 with the injectors in the LIM instead of in the heads when it's intercooled it raises the supercharger then raises the injector rails to so the spacers are 1" cuz that's what the intercooler core is.

Can't speak much on the gains of a SSIC, but the full size is fantastic for temp drops.

Though I can speak on the core going bad part. Been installed for around 2 years now without much issue, but the other day it didn't want to start, and absolutely poured smoke out the exhaust when it finally did. Pulled the blower to find this:

Not sure how the leak happened, but it could have really messed the engine up. Just be careful inspecting your parts, and do a pressure test every so often.

Oh jeeze that sucks. Atleast it didn't do any damage. That's exactly what I was worried about because my motor already hydro locked and bent a rod when it was NA with the plastic upper plenum. Only 2 years too? That's not long at all. How many miles? What brand core?

    WBS core.

Maybe 500miles? Car sat for a long time. I believe it to be a manufacturer defect of the heater core, from where the leak is located.
