Looking to replace the mufflers on my 02 gp gt.

I thought about dual flowmasters, but they're kinda expensive. I don't really want to put too much money into this car, but it would be nice to make it sound good. I'm thinking of having a shop doing all the welding. I'll just supply the parts.

    Flowmasters will drone.

If you want cheap, just buy replacement walker mufflers. Everyone has different tastes for sound but the 3800 sound horrible with just about every setup. Unless you spend dollars on some borla's or run a turbo.

What about just straight pipes? Like cutting the mufflers off and replacing with pipe and a new set of exhaust tips?

haha i had the shop straight pipe it. they cut the resonator off too. think they used 2.5" pipe. i picked up some cheap exhaust tips at o reilly's and they welded them on. All in all it sounds actually pretty good. It's nice and deep IMO and screams but it's not too loud.

Not a fan of straight pipes also. They sound really loud and annoying. There are inexpensive exhausts out there. Have a Dynomax and it sounds good. Louder than stock yet not awful. It is just all-aluminized but I hope it won't get rust easily.
