I have been having issues with my cars center console shifter. Sometimes the shifter works fine, but other times I will switch from Park to Reverse, Or Reverse to Drive, Drive to Reverse, whatever...but the car won't recognize that the shifter is changing positions and will most likely but stuck in neutral. When this happens there is no firm "clicking" into the desired position and it feels very sloppy. Is there something in the center console that is worn or needs replaced?

under the tb on the trans is the end of the shiftier cable, the clip that keeps it tight breaks and the cable gets loose and can cause this.

or the shiftier its self is worn out.

Do you know what that clip is called so I can search for a replacement?

no idea. you can wire it back in place for a temp fix. most seem to get another from a junk yard.
