Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
thats a bit high in miles, and price for those miles. but could be ok with some new gaskets and a new timing chain. these engines like to leak from all over, back cover, oil pan, as long as its out, clean it up and redo the gaskets. id leave the heads on tho, no need to go that far really.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Well id probably just keep my bottom end that has 90xxx id just buy the motor for the top swap and it never hurts to have some extra parts laying around

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
id swap the whole engine and keep your old one for when it blows up lol
you can buy top swap parts way cheaper then 500 bucks.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Hmm ok well id probably just buy the parts seperate i found a supercharger local to me the guy wants 100$ for is there anything i should look for when buying used superchargers or heads? Also when we do the swap do we use the l67 tb and maf?

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
rotor coating and that it spins freely. no grinding. coupler may need to be replace, but that expected if its never been changed. snap the pulley back anf fourth, if bad you feel it click and feel the play.
you need the l67 tb. you can reuse your maf.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Ok is 100$ a fair price for just the supercharger not even vac lines

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
100 aint to bad for a gen 3, if its a gen 5 run and buy it lol
vac lines. buy new line and t's at advance auto. 5 bucks, done.

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
bbv should be bolted on the blower. you need a map sensor and its pig tail tho.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Hmmmm ok well im gonna run by some scrap yards today and see what else i can find. Just so im clear any l67 motor should work wether its from a park ave ultra or regal gs or so on?

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
yup, any one of them cars will do.
you need the balancer too. best to have a cordless impact to busts the crank bolt and pull the balancer off too. can be done with hand tools but kinda sucks.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Ya thats not gonna be fun. I dont have any of those fancy tools haha

you can get the puller with the free tool rental deal. then use a 1/2 drive breaker bar and a pipe.

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Hey guys just picked up my gen 3 m90 i got it for 100$ locally the guy had the lim and the bbv and all the other goodies with it. Now my question is when i spun the pulley it spins totally freely but if i listen really closely i can hear a little scrape and there is wear on the rotors it doesnt look really vad but a little wear definitely. My question is this normal to have a little scrape coming from the rotors considering its not really oiled currently or should i go buy a new rotor from the guy on our parts page?

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
It's not going to be silent thats for sure, they all make noise when you spin them. The gears and bearings.
If you can't move the rotors back and forth with your hands through the bottom, then there really is no play and that just normal noise.
Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Ok ill take a closer look at it when i get home thanks

Re: Some more top swap questions! Yay!
Ok just took a closer look theres no play in the rotors as far as up and down obviously they move freely sideways but i looked at it and it looks like the rotor might be scraping against the housing a little which is where the scraping is coming from. Is that Normal? or maybe it just needs a good clean and oil?
