why would you loosen the alternator, you just have to push the tensioner down with a 15mm wrench. (i think its 15mm anyway from what i remember)

Umm, you're not supposed to loosen the alternator to get the belt on!

There is a belt tensioner that is self adjusting. You just have to use the correct tool (15mm wrench or Serpentine belt tool) to pull it back which allows sufficient room to get the belt on.

Tip: The belt goes on the alternator last!

Let us know how it goes!!

Turn the bolt on the pulley as if you were trying to tighten it......it will then move the whole assembly.

yeah pretend your'e trying to tighten it, and when it moves down use your other hand to roll the belt onto the alt pulley. Its still going to be a tight fit with the tensioner all the way down, but it will work. Its easier with 2 people for me.

acting like your tightening it worked like a charm. you were right about it being tight too. you just need a extra set of hands.
