Got a 2002 Grand Prix gt 3.8 a couple months ago and the engine blew. Got a brand new engine all and all installed for $3000...now that the break in period is done I see how damn fast this car is! My dad has a 95 Trans am firebird formula with the 5.7 lt1.... Unfortunately I think he'd win

ya he'd win for sure lol, being n/a your sitting at 205hp at the flywheel, 16 second car in the qtr. You can topswap your car and then mod your way into 13's easly or even the 12's, or just turbo it and get into the 11's maybe 10's depending on your trans doest blow up, if you want high hp build the trans first.

    OR
if you want just some extra power to play with and want to stay naturally aspirated their is plenty of mods for you, thats what I did, but a mod here and a mod there over the past five years lead me to the mod list in my signature lol, im hoping for mid 14's after i get the 3:69 gears installed.. I think the only way thats happening is if i can make 1st gear hook.

    should read these links:

and if you want to topswap:

    Have fun!

whats your plan? stay n/a or supercharge(topswap) or turbo?
turbo would be pricey as it pretty much needs a built trans to hold the power, so trans and turbo is 4-6k roughly lol.

no one makes a supercharger for the 3800 anymore(I 99% sure of that) thats why everyone does a topswap.

$3000 for an engine and the swap. Wow. When they did the warranty work on my car even with charging for removing the engine from the other car, the bill only came out to ~$1700 and that was for an L67.

Yea the engine was $2300 for complete remanufactured. Then almost $800 for installation.
