    Hello,

My daily driver is a Silver '08 Grand Prix GXP with the LS4 V8. The car was well taken care of before me with 112K on the clock. The airbag light randomly comes on and goes off. Sometimes it stays off for several days, then it pops on and stays on. Other times it stays on from the start. If I stop and restart it goes off. I'm thinking it is a sensor and not the module since it is random. The problem is, which sensor. I'm told the ODB2 diagnostics will tell me which sensor it is from stored codes. The car has been in an accident, and fixed professionally, prior to my purchase

I would like to purchase a ODB2 diagnostic tool that will read SRS codes because the closest mechanic quoted me $55. I know the dealer will be over $100, but is there an inexpensive tool for GM that someone recommends? I would rather pay twice the charge to own one for my GXP.

under the seat is a yellow plug, take it off and put it back on a few times. most of the time its just a bad connection when the light is on and off randomly.

Mine was random at first. Then it was constant. I tried your trick of plugging and unplugging the other day and had no luck unfortunately.

My 05' the SRS has been on since I got it, and the HUD always displays between 105-176* my car has also had front end damage and I am suspecting wiring error the 05 only has one sensor and 06' up have 2 sensors mounted to the top of the core support. Get it scanned and see what it says.

I would get the code read, you may just need new airbag modules.

My sister had a 98 gtp, had 199k on the clock when she got it, airbag light was on, brought to body shop and it just needed the module.
