So I started pulling the engine out (or I am trying to get it out)
But I am stuck on the injectors part
I don't have the tool to get the line apart so I am trying to take the fuel rail off
Question, do I just pull the fuel rail with the injectors connected or do the injectors stay on the motor

    Ok, got the rail off
Do I have to remove the oil pressure sensor
I didn't drain the oil, just the antifreeze

dont have to. best to drain the oil now, its no fun later on, the scrap yard, if its blown up dont want any fluids in there.

oil pressure sensor can come out, or stay in your call. some oil will leak out the hole.

    Thank you
There is nothing wrong with the engine
I am just pulling it so I can replace gaskets and sensors that I would not be able to get to while the engine is in

One thing I forgot to mention is that when I put the headers in I noticed that one of the bolts that hold the headers was broken
    On front of motor
Can I drill that and tap it?
Do you guys know what size drill bit and tap I can use
    Thanks

id try a extractor first, will be easier to do when the engine is on the stand.

i just re gasketed a whole engine, it maybe best to not change the crank seals in the front and real covers. i changed mine the rear was fine, but the timing cover one leaked, then i had a groove i missed on the balancer and it leaked with the new seal installed, then a repair sleeve went on, then a new seal once again.

and ill add, if your re using the steel oil pan, red rtv the block, then set the gasket in the rtv, then do the oil pan lip with rtv and set it on the gasket.

the front and rear covers use rtv on both sides of the gasket at the bottom inch and a 1/2 or so.

when using the rtv, all i used was a thin smear of rtv, maybe a mm thick or so. very little oozed out when i bolted the pan down.

oil filter housing gasket iirc is what its called. it came in the lower conversion gasket kit you should have bought. its 30 bucks and comes with front and back seals front and back cover gaskets, water pump, oil pan, that oil filter housing and the oil pump gasket. and some more stuff im sure.

that kit covers the whole bottom front and back of the engine. just did all this a few weeks ago. only i did a bottom swap so head gaskets were done too, as well as new lim and blower gasket.

head gaskets are sold separate, the lim kit i got was the magnum off rock auto, it came with a load of other gaskets and o rings.. blower gasket is also a solo gasket. its called a "upper plenum gasket."

old scrap metal engine lol i got 20 bucks for the block and heads.

and as you can see, i got that bracket off with out taking the filter housing off.

i must say its a real treat, and some what a dream come true that its a leak free engine now. full gaskets and fluids ran me in the 200 range.

damn those things. good luck with the replacement, maybe find a acdelco one, cause all the local parts store ones suck and fail brand new.

or score one from a junk yard. i re used the one from my 240,000 engine. it still works fine.

and how the f you break that? theres nothing to snap it off really.

Fine, I will tell you how I broke it
I was trying to separate the engine and trans, but had forgotten to take the 3 bolts off the torque converter
I was working outside and it was about 90 degrees and I was tired
    Junk yard it is then

How about the bolts that screw on to the engine and trans
I need to get some for the stand
so I should get the head gaskets, lim kit and the upper plenum gasket?
    Anything else
