I only use Mobil 1 10W30 and a napa gold filter. ^^^Btw, my oil cap says 10W30, why 5W30?

10W30 was what the cap says because they wanted the extra bump is oil pressure. Thats all an old school way to do it now and running 5W30 is not going to change anything. If anything it will lube the motor better and faster when the temps are cooler.

On the 2004+ grand prixs they added a upgraded oil pressure spring to bump oil pressure a small amount, thats way their oil cap will says 5W30.

I'm not all read up on oil specs like some, but I thought 10w30 and 5w30 was the same once the engine was warm? How do you get more oil pressure?

The 10 would be thicker when cold, thus giving more oil pressure at first but once both are warmed up fully they will be roughly exactly the same weight because both end in a 30.

This list is from this study....an effin link I know
    http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articl...lterstudy.html

Did a lot of reading before deciding on the Ultra Fram....it is because of convenience(cheap filter&cheap oil) and a fairly good rating.
Now I wouldn't use the old school Fram stuff.
If Oreillys would get more real with their Mobil 1 prices I would be running WIX.
If the local Farm and Barn would do the same I would be running Mobil 1.

Just checked Amazon....those btches finally have 5 quart Mobil 1 for 23.88 PRIME....yes......new filter time too??

Nah, I'll just go to walmart for the little sumpin sumpin

Wow, funny I've never thought of buying oil on amazon. Good deal. Another place to check is, surprise surprise... Home Depot. It was around 25 last time I was there. Its in the tool isles, kinda surprised me when I seen it.

    It's usually $23-$26 for a Mobil 1 5.1 jug at Wal-Mart.

I've use and sold all.....Wix, Delco, Fram, Bosch, Purolator, FoMoCo etc. As long as you change your filter regularly, and use the correct filter, they are all the same. Pick one and move on to more serious life issues.

I run Mobil 1 0W30 and Mobil 1 Oil Filter. Probably spending more than I need to, but it just feels right.

There is what I run, 2 year warranty on it at the parts store, so it gets warranted every oil change, its for a 4.3l Vortec V6 and adds about half a quart to the engine oil.

    Warranty an oil filter?

How can they even offer that, they can't tell if it's bad or not.

Thats like me buying a new air filter, running my truck through the baja 1000 and taking it back out and asking for a warranty afterwards because it's now dirty. The filter did the job it's suppose to do, how could anyone warranty a part that does exaclty what it's suppose to do but in a short time period.
