My temp gauge regularly sits on the last line (@239 degrees) before the "red" zone of my engine temp gauge when idling. The fan kicks into high gear after it gets there and really doesn't do much when it does. The only thing that brings the temp back down is airflow from driving it around. Had the cooling system flushed by auto shop in the past year. Replaced the thermostat in the past 2 years. Both fans work. Running out of options that I am aware of. Thanks for the help!

System is blocked or you have small leak letting air in system, need new thermostat?

This is just a guess but wonder if temp sensor could be bad w/o triggering a trouble code? Has check engine ever come on?

I would second the radiator is probably blocked up. When i did my cam in march i flushed mine multiple times and you wouldn't believe some of the gunk that came out of it. That gm dexcool bs is a radiator killer. Flush it yourself, make sure it's full and burped then if it's still reading stupid start checking sensors.

So I feel like a complete tool. I figured the place that did the coolant flush would have ensured I had plenty of coolant. I was wrong. Burped the system, filled the reservoir with 50/50 and everything leveled out. So thankful it never overheated. Thank you all for the attention in this matter. I hope I can be of service to you in the future.

Happens dude. Glad you got it fixed. Summer is bad time to have cooling issues.
