Hello all, my name is Ryan. I just posted an introduction post in the other section, this one is dedicated solely to questions/concerns I have about my recently acquired 01 GTP, 112k miles. It's going to be quite the list, I apologize for the lack of brevity!

Any help or info you can share with me is GREATLY appreciated, she is my daily driver!

#1: I get into car, start it, put it into gear (R,D, doesn't matter) I am having an intermittent issue where the "Low Trac" light comes on and I hear a "wrrring" noise, and it feels like the car is being "held back" so to speak. It moves forward, but not normally. A second or two later, the light shuts off, and the car is "released" and moves normally. My old car didnt have TCS/ABS, so I'm pretty unfamiliar with how these systems operate.. this issue may be partially related to #2.

#2: Also intermittently, my ABS light on the dash will come on, and the TCS will shut off. Pushing the button does nothing, it remains off. I drove for an hour yesterday, over 40 miles, it didnt come on until the last 5 minutes of the drive. I drove to work today, >5 miles, and it went on/off twice. I don't have access to an ABS scanner, but the hub bearings arent noisy. Havent had a chance to pull the wheels and check all connections.

#3: 4th gear shudder on occasion. I've heard that this is related to the pressure control module in the tranny. It hasn't done it in the past few days, I was just wondering if this could be remedied if I disconnect the battery and let the computer "re-learn". I found through the search function that this could fix the issue, the car did sit for about 6 months before i bought it. Trans fluid is nice and bright red, doesn't smell burnt, level is perfect.

#4: My car came equipped with the Bose stereo, and a nice Pioneer HU. While I am a huge audiophile, I can tolerate the Bose until finances dictate an upgrade. However, the 5.25 in the passenger door and the two 4 inch speakers in the rear are all missing for whatever reason. I've checked all of the local yards, can't find any GP's with the bose stereo. Is there other W-bodies that have the 2ohm bose speakers in the correct size? or maybe any other cars? Or is there somewhere online I can buy them? I've found 2 ohm aftermarkets, but I'm not sure how they would sound.

#5: The side skirts on this car are done for. Warped, cracked, broken, they look like hell. None of the local yards have any coupes I could pull from, I've found these online that I like http://www.bodykits.com/Extreme-Dime...101902/900807/

but on the site, it says that modification is needed to fit. I tried searching, and found no info on any forums about these skirts. I'd rather have OEM replacements, but it's not looking like an option. Ideas?

That's about it for now.... If you read through all of that, thank you!
If you have any input, thank you x2!

I'm looking forward to your replies, I really love this car!

1, 2 & 3 can simply be related to bad hubs, common problem, easy fix.

    4. Go aftermarket, is simply a dozen times better than anything stock! Worth the $ and first thing I do to any car I buy.

    5. No... Just no. There are just way too many outlets where you can get replacement pieces from used cars, parts cars, etc.

    welcome by the way!

Thanks for the info coolone! I'll have to check the hubs for play when I can put the car up in the air. As far as the side skirts go, do you know of anywhere online that I could get them from? I've searched quite a few outlets and haven't found anything.

Had a rear hub replaced on our 04 GP GT back in 09 at 57,000 miles. Car now has 101,000 miles and TCS will shut off with a small bump one day and be okay for rest of the week. Never happens in the winter only summer or spring months. More of an annoyance then problem. I suspect a fair weather short in one of the wiring harnesses going to a wheel sensor. Really strange.

Car-part.com, if you can't find the specific part, use it to locate gp's you can check by going to look at it (search a part specific to coupes, find one close, and see if it has the rockers on it). Craigslist sometimes has parts cars listed, finding a '97-'03 coupe may be a little harder though. Don't forget to search ebay, sometimes decent priced stuff is on there, as well.
