This might be a rhetorical question but is it me or is my 245/50/17s on my GS look wider than my 245/35/20s on my LS buick? They're both 245s width, but I swear looking from the rear from afar the GS tires look wider. Weird.....

I think I remember hearing something about different tire manufacturers using slightly different measurements from each other
could be talking out my ass though
Rims might be 17x7.5 but I'm not sure and they don't seem to have a factory offset, nor do I have a aftermarket offset and/Or spacers. I'm bout to post a pick real quick
Hold on, fighting with photobucket trying to post this pick
Makes sense
Thinking about 255 50 17 27.04 in diameter or 255 55 17 28.04 in diameter
245/50/17 are currently on
255/50 is my next option but 255/55 was just a thought bc i seen to have plenty of space or at least enough to compensate for an 1"
Stock is 26.7" so it is more like 1.34" taller and I can almost guarantee you'd rub.
I'd personally run nothing other than stock diameter tire. It doesn't make any sense to run taller, or smaller.
I'll probably go with the 255/50/17 27.04 in diameter barely a 1/4 of an inch more in diameter than stock tire height
For me it's about the look, the right width tire on my 17s just makes the perfect stance and look.
255/55 is pushing it but 255/50 should clear
Stealthee, heres a few pics of my 245/50/17s. They fit and look nice, the 255/50/17s were just a thought. I figured that extra width of the 255/50 on my 17" rim would give me a more of a old school racing wheel look with the tire bubbling over the rim.
From the looks a 255/50/17 might rub....

Yeah the tire can fit wider 17" rims so my rim is a lil on the smaller side like around 17x7.5 i think. My tires can fit up to 17x8.5" rims or 17x9" rims i think
So im assuming 255/50/17 would be cutting it to close huh?
So bc my rim isn't as wide the tire bubbles over the rim. Fits perfectly and is totally normal for this rim and tire size setup
What is the stock tire size and diameter?
Pros and cons of tire/rim offset (like 35+)?
