I'm a new member to the Pontiac fam as well as this forum...previously I'd throw a hid kit on my car and call it a day but I kinda want to take my time and do my Grand Prix...I want to retrofit my lights but I honestly don't know where to start...between not knowing what projectors to get and Google presenting me with outrageous prices I could use a little help.

Any other idea for mods would be great too. My 04 GTP is currently bone dry stock...

Go on google. Type in classy retrofits and a website will come up. either he can build them for you. Or he can compile a kit and send it to you

I did the D2S 3.0 for my first retro, I'm still using them.
More work (not much really)than the H1s but better output with a better choice of bulbs.
with the D2S 3.0s you have the option of using the 50 watt ballasts from TRS or 55 watt fast brights, etc.

With what I know now, I would use the RX350. They are $100 more with the clear lens upgrade but appear to be WAY better.
Plus I would probably op to have TRS tune them which would add another 100 possibly.

If you do mostly city driving, stick to a 35 watt projector(H1). For predominately highway I would go to a 55 watt projector capable selection.

Get some new TYC headlights - $100

    Projectors - $110
    ballasts - 50 - 110 or so
    sealant and JBweld

The total for mine after the Denso ballast uprade was around 600
I went with the kit from TRS which had the projectors, ballasts, harness, shrouds, bulbs and sealant. TRS has impeccable support and warranty support.
For your purchase there should be no other choice but them.

Then there is the paint and cuss words you will have to get.
    Well worth the effort

Grab a spare set of lights so you don't have to worry and can take your time. As mentioned above, use a projector that can take a D2S bulb. Leaves you with some nice OEM options for bulbs.

I myself am running an MD2S 3.0 set up, but I have built many MH1 set ups as well. The MD2S projector definitely has more width, and the ability to use OEM bulbs is great too. I went with Phillips 85122s and 35 watt ballasts. Regardless of what projector you use, it will blow the stock lights away. So just do some research and take your time. The MH1s are very tiny, and almost fun to retrofit. I had an awful time with the MD2Ss, but I have a Bonne with non-existent space in the lights. The 04+ GP should be the same amount of work with either projector.
