Hi guys, are the brakes and rotors available at autozone, oreillys, advance auto, ect any good? As in no squeaking, grinding, premature warping. Wanted to pick up some today but don't want to deal with those annoyances.

I put some ceramic pads from orileys on my moms lacrosse and it stops pretty good, the rotors I had them resurfaced. So far she hasn't complained about them warping or anything.

I bought the cheap pads from autozone one time. Never again, with my speedy driving they were shot in 6 months.

The rotors from Advance are actually pretty nice, they're built thicker and meatier than a lot of the other retailers I've seen so they handle heat and abuse well.

However, I bought my current rotors from r1 concepts and they've been amazing. I will definitely replace them from there when these ones are due, 100% recommend.

I've had Advance's platinum level pads on since I put the r1 rotors on a little under a year ago, they're really great.. almost zero brake dust, no squeaks in almost a year and I've had to nail the brakes pretty hard a handful of times in the past year... they grab nice. Plus, they come with new hardware clips and a grease packet included.

I have a set of cheap drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads from ebay approx $120 and they have worked fine. Ive put them on all my cars and even my 4400lbs fat charger likes them. I have almost 30k on the rotor on my charger and on the 2nd set of pad up front.

You are going to get what you pay for, beyond that your driving style could have a large effect on all those same things.

I believe two of the most important parts on a car are largely overlooked. Rubber and brakes... Don't skimp here! Quality rotors like Centric, and R1 which are reported to be the same will out last many and not have issues. Pads, well, depends on your driving but same there too. EBC, Hawk, Stop Tech, etc... : )

Go bigger, Fbody at least, you won't be disappointed... Rock Auto currently has Stop Tech remain, power coated calipers for $42+18 per... Can't beat it! R1 rotors and some good pads and whoolaaaaa! Stop on a dime!

I just installed a set of ProStop Platinum High Carbon rotors from my local pep boys. I took advantage of the sale online and the discount from the rewards club they have. I spent $150 for the set of 4 and then ordered a set of Wagner thermo quiet's from rockauto. So far so good. No squeals or noises. The proStops look identical to the centric high carbon rotors my brother as on his grand prix.

Napa supposedly has good rotors and pads.

I got tired of the hawk pads. They dusted like crazy. Go ceramic if you are want to avoid brake dust.

I've had good luck with NAPA ceramic pads and rotors over the years on my GP's. Put Extreme stop rotors and Wagner perfect stop ceramic pads on my wife's Civic Si over a year ago with no complaints. Noticeable improvement over stock too.

No doubt about the brake performance of the Hawk pads but they are very dusty so I switched to EBC pads.

I never buy from the big box stores, i have bought a total of 6 sets online, they range. The ones for the g6's that i ordered were 105$ for brake pads and rotors for all 4 wheels. The ones for the grand prixs are about 130$ for all 4 wheels. Try ebay, I have noticed, that the cheapest ones are in canada, dont squeek, pretty good quality and they ship fast. Took 3 days one time for them to get here, this set that is coming now i ordered 4 days ago and coming today.
