    My wipers seem to be acting up. Let's start off by saying what they do correctly: the Mist function works properly, the switch for the fluid works fine, the intermittent settings work (only some), and now the problems. Once you get to the second to last intermittent setting (shorter of the lines), the wipers will act as they're on the High setting. Moving down to the last intermittent setting does nothing either, same speed as before. Moving the wiper setting into the High and Low sections does nothing either. Low and High will be the same speed as before. I'm 99% positive the wipers aren't supposed to work this way. Is this a bad motor or do you think its a relay? Clueless.

    Could be the multifunction switch.

    Never heard of it. Is that something I can replace, or is it part of the whole wiper, blinker, cruise stalk?

    Yep, its the stalk that controls the wipers, highbeams, cruise. Hence multifunction.

    Should be replaceable. Never really had to but have seen it mentioned here. Try a quick search for multifunction replacement. I'm sure something will turn up. If not, then I'm sure we can help.

    Dang that seems like a lot of work to remove the stalk. Is there anything else that could cause the problems listed above? Is there a wiper relay in the engine fuse box or something?

    The wiper delay module is mounted underneath the motor. Can't really even see or unplug it until you have the wiper transmission assembly out, but it is a common source of problems like yours. Replacement units have a more durable circuit board. First time doing this job should take about an hour, getting the trans ass'y out of the opening in the cowl was the toughest part for me. Part is around fifty bucks.
