You can get that bolt out, just keep working with it. I forgot to put that mount back on before i put my fuel rail back on the other day. Took a few minutes but i got it in.

I have an extendable magnet to put the bolt back in, so I'm not too worried about that, just the fact that it gets harder to loosen. I wonder if it's the lock-thread stuff on the bolt. Did they come with that on them from the factory? My uncle is pretty good with cars so I might have him watch me and help me if I need it. I bought a 13mm ratchet wrench, just for that one bolt and it doesn't even fit over it. Injector gets in the way too much :/. There goes $12.
I don't think I'll be doing headers. Don't gain any power and doesn't make the car louder unless I buy a downpipe and aftermarket mufflers, which is out of my budget.
Invest in a set of ratchet wrenches. Mine had loctite on the same bolts you are having trouble with, make sure to get some high strength red when you put it back together. You are doing the easy side, the back one will have you cursing GM engineers!
my rear cover comes off faster then the front these days, not a pull bracket in sight, and not a sensor bracket left either. and i got a 98 so the alt is no where near touching the v/c.
I saw the video for doing the rear valve cover gasket and I agree, I would be cursing at them. Hell, I'm about to be if I can't remove this front bracket! I probably won't put loctite back on incase I have to remove it again. Hate to run into the same problem again in the future.
I know the '97-'98 Grand Prix GT's and I think GTP's had the first type of 3800 Series II I guess you could say. Were the brackets not in the same place those model years and did they apply to your Regal, Scotty?
96-98 got a different bracket and alt, its got a cast lower elbow too. theres a good 1/2 inch between the bracket and v/c.
all of them years came with this bracket, car its in didnt matter.
So the '96-'98 Regal's and the '97-'98 Grand Prix's would be more ideal to work on? Too bad those motors had less power, but only 5 H.P. on the N/A. I think the supercharged motors were at 240 H.P. all around.
its not easier to work on, the 99 up cars you need to loosen up the alt bracket to get the v/c off, 97-98 its clear. the rest of the BS is still there evap and map sensor and the pull brackets, all that crap is removed on my car since i did headers.
I take it the pull bracket is the black metal bracket in the back with a hole in the top presumably a point where to lift the engine out. There's one identaical in the front?
