Did new brakes on the front end, and got a bunch of replacement front end components. Still have to replace the CV shaft on the driver side

Blue I don't see a rack there lol. Or the kitchen sink, jeez.

I replaced belts on the GPJ. Redline ahoy now.

Like the old person that I am, walked in to an O'Reilly's with belts in hand. The young counterperson took awhile but snagged the right ones on the first shot and left me with eighteen cents in my pocket. I guess I'd have to hire on there to find out just how they train them to do that trick where they send you home with no folding money. Uh-oh folding money, thats geezer speak also. Ha

Well the rack did seep a little, but Lucas stop leak actually completely stopped it lol. Or it would have been in there.

That thing should be fresh as a daisy. How is the 4x4 aspect or is there any?

Definitely is a 4x4 stance still, but it handles way better than stock height with stock suspension. That way I can fly around a corner with little to no body roll, and clear all of the steep aoproaches. Pretty nice combination for city driving around here

I like having some reasonable ground clearance myself. It just feels so good to have a fresh front end. Neither of my black GPs would align right now lol. Both are sloppy. The 69 is holding up good considering I rebuilt the suspension in 2000. Still need to do something about the leaky steering box.

The boot ripped and it's shaking on the driver side like mad, we caught it before it got too bad. Every time after you turn right and accelerate it shakes very badly, and I checked a lot of the suspension up front and everything looked okay. When I do the CV shaft i'm replacing the entire control arm assembly, sway bar (dorman) and tie rods. I'm doing both sides and replacing the stabilizer bar (addco) while I'm at it.

I already have all the parts too.

I'm pretty sure sway bar and stabilizer bar are the same thing in reference to GPs lol, I haven't found another bar yet, at least...

    EDIT: mis-description of intended meaning.

I refer to the Sway bar as front and stabilizer bar as rear. Minor technicalities but that is how I learn to differentiate without saying front or rear. Interchangeable terms.

New adjustable QA1 Panhard bar w/ relocation bracket and brace, new sway bar end links, the walboro 255lph fuel pump is installed, new fuel tank straps, stainless steel fuel sending line is replaced, throttle body is rebuilt, and I have everything with the car to replace the drums.

Old fuel pump: (had no strainer, desolved in the fuel)

New work required: return fuel line blew, so I ordered the replacement and the replacement evap line. Brake line blew in the rear so I'm going to just say f*** it and replace all of the brake lines, and when removing the drums my friend hit the wheel studs and broke them all out of place, so I need to get new ones pressed in.
So close to rolling, I just have to be careful and do it safetly.

On a side note I have the glass I need to have the correct year hatch glass installed via safelite to fix what they did (installed 10-hole glass compatible with center high mounted third brake lights, whereas my third brake light is in my spoiler) which resulted in 2 extra holes in my car.

Replacing the other 2 fuel lines, and getting the brake lines done are going to be a pain, not to mention I have to get the new wheel lug studs pressed in because I have idiots for friends. Oh, and I've never done drum brakes before, or any of this before for that matter

huh. never took the time to think about it that way...but it makes sense lol and I know the feeling of nursing an axle... hope yours turns out better than mine.

drum brakes are easy really. take a pic before you start, theres a pin with a spring and turn cap holding the spring on both shoes to the backing plate, take them off and you can pretty much tear em off.

having a brake tool is nice for hooking the springs and getting them back on, but you can use needle nose pliers and a screw driver to pull on them to hook em. or just a screw driver, careful as springs can and will fly and maybe piss you off at first. second side will go much easier lol

theres a star wheel at the bottom close it then put it in between the shoes, after all the springs are back on put the drum on and spin it, now you need to open the star wheel ( it only spins one way easy, this is to open it and make the shoes wider, turn it a few turns, test fit the drum. you want it to just drag the shoes a little bit.

Awright, just did GTP seats and dash too, no rain yet but it looks like it. Got one touch up to do then its suppertime.

Drum brakes are yeah... take pic first. And hope they were together right to begin with, lol. I ran with four wheel drums many many miles on many cars.
