First round at the U-Pull-It today, $155 worth and pic+story to follow later. Been waiting a long time to wash and get fresh gas in Betty, and now i have enough stuff to get her sufficiently together looking to park in the street without breaking city ord.

Scotty dang man, this ain't your month. How did you ever even find a carriage bolt to rund over, those things went out with cattle rustling. Awhile back I lost my best tire to a nail thru the sidewall. How does that crap even happen? In any event, the trusty W-body is my choice of weapons for the daily grind. They just won't hold enough tire for the real world of road hazards. Glad you didn't have a hi-speed blowout.

Here we go- Friday pic fest.

Betty meets um... Ugly. But ah, home sweet home. Mowed just for presentation purposes, lol. Walked right over a good size snake who might live in that '72.

She is SO full of "goodies" off the 40th GTP-

This would be the junkyard junk pile. Idrivejunk's. There was a slight amount of risk involved in getting that dented fender off an SE. The wheels it sat on were right on one bolt so i had to do about 500 yards pushin this oversized car-tired swingset cherry picker thing over to it so i could hook the vertical support and get in there. It was muggy. Man, them first good sweats of the year STING the eyes! Most 48 y.o.'s know better than to go pull it.

Anyway so after breaking the counter guys balls or so he whined (headlight assys are $38 online and about that from the JY), I got some lame-o lamps I can hodge-podge together with what I have, three fender shields (2 for the GTP, one for Bam-a-lam Betty), that fender and a pocket full of screw holes. They had three coupes, to my amazement. I wasn't there for airbag stuff but heck, its prolly there. The nasty TS wheel is another that came off Super Betty, has a useable tire still.

Aside from too many long walks for tools after I realized they had mega GPs (including a pace car, pounded in the quarter), and pushing that picker, it was a good day. Even worked on 67 and 69 Chevys past couple days with hand not hurting too much so my mood is up. Feels good to have everything within reach. The 135K L67, 4T65E-HD, and subframe are still hogging space at the hot rod shop. Those are all big but with no passenger seat the GTP swallowed that pile right up today. Now to DO stuff to all this stuff so I can tag Betty. She has crooked wheels too so the scars are more than skin deep.

I swear this is exactly what happens (to me, on my cars) if I don't do the break in. Never tried ceramics, I figured those just chew rotors instead. In any event, no friction intended. Or pun.

Booba- be careful cutting those! Will you grind or cut, hot knife, or whut? I've used vegetable oil and a serrated knife to cut right through big rubber bump stops but the poly may not be that soft. FWIW, good idea on the polys for the arms, what bushings did you order for that?

Energy 3.2125G's I need to cut them both down and use 1 stock sleeve, but that'll be it. I hope to use one of the Energy sleeves (since I'll have 2 extras) to hold the bushing while I hit it with a Dremel with a cut off blade. I'll have the sleeve sticking out the shoulder side quite a bit so I'll have plenty to hold on to.

Already in primer! After me, you're first. Had to go retrieve one from the ditch but got those suckas. Probably actually will shoot the 40th lid and spoiler plus rails. Might as well make it a black 40th because theres not much else to do with all this stuff. Maybe get dark cherry bumper inlays to tie it in, who knows. Would you go 40th interior just because you had it? I'm not sure its anything more than a lateral move, looks-wise. My taste ain't popular but I don't want to make it uglier.

Truthfully I don't know, it'd be one of those thing where I'd have to hold it up and see what kind of "flow" it had. As far as the seats, I'd sell them off and fund some 04+ seats. That's the best thing I ever did to the interior of the car, by a long shot.

I have yet to figure out what the undesireable issue is with 99 seats. I like em and have no fatigue after Shreveport runs. Best I ever had! Thats probably the answer right there. Bench seat column shift heritage.

"Flow"- damn, its awful. or is it? These are from when I test drove the 40th. I don't like the 02 steering wheels.

Koni struts, gmpp springs, and poly endlinks installed today. Along with the front and rear stb yesterday, I hope this car handles a lot better now.

Has anyone had a problem with a TRS relay harness?

First problem today since I put them in a year ago. Passenger light didn't come on when I brought my son home.
Proceeded to off/on/off/on and finally off while I waited in the garage. No flicker, no pink bulb. wouldn't come on flicking on/off at all

I swapped the relays around and they fired consistently 5 times.
Contacts looked great, but I did notice the relay packs were very warm to the touch.

And Matt.....those 40s look kinda dated and busy. stick with the GM fabulous grey.

It handles a bit better, definitely room for improvement still.

What rear sway do you have? That makes a pretty big difference and ties everything together out back.

Gmpp front and rear sway. It definitely feels better, but I think these cars will always have a bit of body roll.
