Jack up a W body from the front of the subframe, put jackstands at the back of the subframe or drip edge. The car will nearly fold in half.

Jack up a w body at the drip edge like i did.. show me the rear wheel coming up. They flex a lot more, that's all I'm getting at.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That's how they disposed of all their tanks. Subframes are made from 1.5" steel plate. Little known fact.

Yeah, I tried jacking from the drip edge only once. Never again. Some reason rust doesn't support much pressure.

I couldnt get the hang of mobile upload or you'd have it now. Front comes up 4-5 inches then rear lifts. Try lifting a 1st gen Windstar with a door open... instant total loss!

When they did Clays cam swap and were jackin the car up with the subframe basically unbolted except 1 or 2 bolts i saw the whole front end i swear flex a good inch unless my eyes were playing tricks on me.

got the lame stock 3.8 pulley back on, found the last of the oil leaks. (yes leaks) as some of you may of heard me say, its wet but i dont see it leaking, well thats cause the balancer no longer leaks, but the oil pressure sensor threads were. gave that a few turns and no more leak. and no more KR.

i think it needs some more timing or some thing. its weak feeling.

People were driving like maniacs as usual this morning, only on camera. Thats neato bandito, I do feel safer.

Dang Scotty thats a fair-sized chiperoo she gnawed up. Amazing they don't scatter when that happens. Pistons must be blown from the same glass as diff gears on these things.

My, my what a day.. engine fire (NOOOOO!) Aw crap, on that. Anybody ever fix a burnt one?

Bewb, that looks like glass. Need you to do my cluster's face, it was stained with cleaner or something. Wonder if Meguiar's #10 from the 90s is any good, lol. I should just throw in the 02 cluster if thats possible. (?)

Bill- your jack handle, my shadow... neither is a very good pic but yes theres a good inch or so under that GTP right rear. Read that post on my way out to lunch and there was a jack and GTP handy but the sun was high noon and only one pic. Kinda looks like your struts have more drop, and thats safer. See the 3 wheelin Boobs posted about... I guarantee my 40th's last act was whatever you call that, lifting a rear. Not good in extreme cornering! I would have thought the IRS on GPs was more capable than that, but it just supports my tag axle theory lol. Like a support garment. Anyway- lunch time pic:

Forgot I uploaded this yesterday... the dash cam microphone must get turned down or taped over for use with glasspacks. Its awful, here you listen but don't crank this up... its one of them cars where if you didn't need to go to the bathroom before you got in, you will in a few minutes, lol. Not fast really, just furious!

I used mine when I did my trans work, front areas are still holding. Rears are a different story. The bend though, typical of any unibody car really. Even framed vehicles will bend a bit.

No brown Corn Flakes in my rockers! Unless rotating tires (jack up like pic) I jack up on the center of the front of the subframe. But yeah its amazing how they aren't rusty here, kinda blows me away how bad they are up there.

Bill's Audi may be laser welded. This car was. First one I had run across. That was about six years ago and the car was brand new never sold when hit. It was not spot welded in, for example, the glass beds. This is arguably stronger and more reliable from the robot than spot welds. I went back with MIG-stitched slots instead, rather than plug welds, to replace the laser welds. Laser welding also facilitates joining panels of unlike thickness along the edge. As in door shells on many popular large-body vehicles, where the hinge area of the shell is thicker than the rest. My point? Don't have one, but someone here may learn from that paragraph. Its true they don't make em like they used to!
