Bring some of that elbow greease over here, I'm fresh out and just brought home a few hundred flat insects. Theres this one valley where they swarm about dusk.

I could fit some green 3m pads in an envelope??
Man I am glad I don't do much Night driving. Get yourself some Collinite and keep the front slicked up.
It's like there is no easy way without some work to get those spatters off.

Hey I have some o those by the sink! Worked pretty good as spray paint prep the other weekend. I opt for extra passes and dunks with the mitt, my paint has always lived nude and been washed with just water. Sometimes a few drops of Dawn. I got good water pressure at the house lol. Now aren't you glad I was unable to come up with a quick reference to the braless sister? Ha.

Yow, I was afraid of that one. I tried different ways of wording it, but gave up.

Hey Matt,,,I'm thinking about getting the purple spray gun with regulator from HF, plus a quart of Duplicolor clear and black from Oreillys to tint my tails.
A nice blend of clear/black with maybe some clear shots after?

Would my 6 gallon 150psi compressor have enough snot for tails?

Truly on the purple gun, not worth a regulator just use a cheater valve. Thats whats on mine. Your compressor ought to do the tails fine.

On tail tinting... personally I'd like to do something on mine but with the laws here and being hit from behind twice in 6 months now... I ain't.

Un-tried opinion of IDJ on technique- I'd try hitting it with that tint spray then get a 2K single-use rattle can made, of catalyzed urethane clear. One O'Reilly's can do that here, they sell DuPont. Body shop supply house for that if not, whatever you have locally. Let tint flash dry then follow as directed with acrylic urethane. Theres no substitute for isocyanates when it comes to car finishes. This would also enable buffing without changing the tint or making light spots.

You can go clear black mix then clear on top but my concern with that... and we "bury" LED strips at work that are fairly invisible until lit, but with body color... the carbon black pigment in black paint will block light. I would assume that actual tint spray uses a more translucent pigment but have not researched.

I did a basic detail on my cousin's Outlander Sport today. Just did polishing compound and topped it with a coat of wax.

There had been a bunch of rock chips in the hood and my cousin had used a touch up pen to fill them in and I told him the only way he was going to make them disappear, and close to it would be to do some wet sanding.

In the end he was happy. The blue pops a little more now that I did the little polish and wax. I finished it off by applying some Back to Black to the trim and made it pop even more.

I also convinced my uncle to get some of his own Back to Black for the trim and bumper on his Tacoma. IT had a weird "tiger-striping" look going and I put a little bit on the corner and made the striping completely disappear.

Other than all that a bunch of us went to the drag strip for a street car shootout night. There were a few really fast cars there. Only saw one W body. It was a black Monte that pulled the headlight. It was slow.

There was a lot of Honda's breaking diffs and axles. One Mustang broke his trans on the starting line. A FC RX7 that was 2JZ swapped either broke something in the rear end or in the trans. It threw sparks as it was about to cross the traps but it kept going under its own power. We saw it being loaded on a roll back a mile from the track. Apparently he tried to drive it home realized he wasn't going to make it.

Was a fun night. Ran into a few people I know. Almost wished I had brought the Pontiac, just to see what it would do, then after all the breaks was very glad I did not bring it.

A guy I work with swears by alkaline water only for bugs. He says the pH of the water is all you need to adjust, no chemicals, just alkaline water a towel and finger pressure.

I laid some rubber with it. Had somebody check my plates on the return route. Just saw a sheriff deputy passing my house. Woops.

helped my friend out today with his new truck, it needed its side boards installed like last week. they be done at last.

C channel bracket to the front to extend the C channel there already.

then had to make these rear brackets.

over the winter the woods coming off, then we are making metal box frame and sheet metal sides and a split swing gate over the tail gate.

funny story about welding. my friend does all the welding, and every time hes trying to join stuff im over there trying to clamp it all up, hes like get that out of here......well these rear brackets, he made both, i tried to help clamp em to the table with a square to hold it in place, well he gave me crap about the clamps so i walked off and worked on something else. think i even said good luck with that lol

come time to install said brackets, they are a 3/4 of a inch out of square........ i did laugh out loud, said told ya!!!

you you now see the angle cut and re weld at the corners of both brackets. i made him use clamps after he cut it apart lol the gap was huge lol 1/4 inch if not more.......

but shes all done and solid as can be i climbed up both sides and hung all my weight on the side boars, only the boards moved some.

ran out of paint too. need another can of black paint for the front, had enough to paint the back brackets.

Lowered it - Vogtlands. Comp-G struts (used), we'll see how long this setup will last - let the testing begin! I love how the car feels and responds. Rear end is DAMN stiff, front not as much but MUCH stiffer than it used to be . My OEM front struts were almost done so it was a good swap. Will take it to the shop tomorrow for allignment. No vibrations during acceleration so I guess shorter dog bones will not be necessary.

Had to swap cars with wife so I could get van to clean up for road trip. Driving it over it died when I was turning onto ramp. Gauge showed a little under 1/4. Looks like that's my new E. . I'm using an Aeromotive pump with a bunch of holes drilled in stock canister.

Died on her too when she was coming home. I forbade her from filling up cause I want to fill up with e85 when I get back from vacation. That'll give me something to look forward to as I drive 14hrs home with 3 bored kids.

Drove moms car around, trans is getting worse. Shifts are getting slow at times bucks randomly (according to her, it didn't happen to me) and it feels like TCC lockup is happening really rough randomly. Still slips and bangs in 1st and sometimes during a downshift and sometimes it hard shifts. Cats going out but I told her thats on the back burner as the trans is more important.
