I can think of a several whys ;)
Yesterday I swapped the cruise unit and cable on the GT, off the 02. Works like a champ. The flat rope in the control box tore in half. I figure it is possibly wreck related just took awhile to stop working.

Got a job about 2 miles from the house a few months back. Driving to and from work is about all I do rn. Probably all any of us who still work do. I have discovered my MPG's plummeted to 15.8. Not great and not horrible.
i got one of them jobs, less then 5 miles round trip. where the mpg on the dic drop to the basement, your only filling up once a month now. at least thats how i roll.
even since selling the regal and dd the tahoe. its got a bigger tank and a v8, but it still lasts a month.
I've driven my truck 8,500 miles, the avg mpg is 12.5 over that with 95% city.
Anyone know how to tell whether it's the power steering pump or the steering rack that I need?
Not hard to turn left. It makes that grinding noise when turning while moving.
you also hear the pump whining? and the wheel is not smooth to turn. could be the pump.
I'll have to listen for it.
I finally gave the GP a much needed wash today. Been over 2 months and it was looking horrible. Lot going on in life lately and the cars have kinda suffered. Might throw it in the garage tomorrow and give it a quick buff and wax that it needs. Clear is really starting to haze on the decklid and SLP spoiler again :th_shakinghead2:
I should take a few days off of work and break out my new Flex XC that I bought and learn how to use it. I'd bet it can pull out the shine if I do it right, just never used a really nice polishing machine before so I need to practice. I should clay it to start with too most likely.
Same. Did a quick 30min wash to the GXP to cruise the local parade with the Fire Dept and various classics. Living under trees now and it shows, so I should get a little more frequent with washing all 3 vehicles.
Picked up a new to me 2000 with 155k on the clock with a rebuilt engine. Forgot alot about these old crates but I'm quickly remembering. So far I've, fixed the water in flood boards, fixed a brake line, 180* tstat, cleaned the throttle body, washed it multiple times, (now needs buffed) replaced a burned out fog bulb, and put in some autolite 605's. Still need to change the supercharger oil, and port the supercharger. Might do that all in one fail swoop.
Future plans are, tint all the way around, headers, replace the catback system as it is rusting out. Thinking a glass pack res to a chambered muffler of some sort. Probably will ditch the dual muffler at that point because I'm lazy and a y pipe to another muffler is pointless weight. Then to get a tune for those mods and see if the old girl is ready for a pulley drop.
Overall a decently clean car. Will need new tires as it sat for over a year and the tires on it are slightly weather cracked. Pretty sure it needs a hub assembly too because the tcs off light is always on and has a slight shimmy turning right. Someone ran boost in overdrive and now it has the od Mia mod so that will need rectified, but the guy I bought if off of said he'd pay for a junkyard tranny and my cousin owns a repair shop so simple enough of a fix. Broke the throttle body gasket so now gotta fix that. Glad I knew going into this it was going to be a project car. [emoji23]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7ecc15f10f.jpg

Hm. Today's hopper is to install shortened axles to remedy axle bind. We'll see how it goes...
And maybe try to figure out why my cruise control doesn't work since I tuned it.
GTP got hauled off to a transmission shop yesterday. Trump is paying half. Broke it on February 13 on black ice.
Ordered new plugs/wires. Time for another ~90K mile tune up. Existing plugs look ok just getting worn. Also finally ordered a replacement drivers side axle so I can remedy the clunk and hopefully the vibration that I've been dealing with for over a year. Still thinking I need some spacers to account for the lowering but will see what the new axle does first.
No worry. Like that its getting fixed. I got the price is right loser horn from ya on it already on post 9110.
3401?
You did it right the first time. Yeah clay first, you dont want to grind stuff into the paint.
I have had mine for over 6 years and love it. Make sure you get the Lake Country Force pads.
I have the smaller 4 3/8 backing plate since I use the 5.5" Force pads.
