^^^New Radiator, new fan, car runs great and stays cool.

Side note; got the Explorer running great. All it needed was several sensors, fuel pump, oil pan scraping, coolant and oil flush. And a good power wash under the hood. Nasty cars these.

Put a new AC delco MAF sensor in the 03. Seems to have fixed the P0102 code.

Saw this on the lawn next to my city's police department. Had to drive by and take a pic lol

Also yesterday I flushed the cooling system and refilled with water and cleaner. It already looks brown, and I could smell the dex-sludge smell while at a stop light as the engine was heat soaking. The overflow bottle seems to catch the debris breaking up.

Today I flushed the brake fluid out, tried to make my rims look better by sanding and buffing some areas because I'm too cheap to buy new ones.

Also took both front rotors off and sanded down some rust that developed this past week that it sat. I could feel the brakes pulsing ever so slightly today. All good now.
And I just ordered torque strut mounts. I flipped the other mounts when I got the car, but the torque strut bushings are totally blown out.

Need to give the GP a good interior cleaning. Watched it roll 428K so time for another oil change. Been trying to gather some more parts but this month has drained the account so it'll be on hold for now. Still need to figure out where the clunk in the front end is too.

Discovered the GXP's ambient air temp sensor may be on its way out. It was 107* the other day and my car thought it was 44*. This shut off my A/C which wasn't cool but I was able to cycle it off and back on again. Whew

Damn! Well, time for a coolant flush/change. Not good timing in the middle of summer though. Never seen one leak that bad before.

Got the interior cleaned up finally. Have a funeral for my best friends Gma this Sat. so it'll get a wash/quick wax tomorrow after I get home from the visitation to make it shiny again. Even though we weren't blood related she always treated me as one of the grandkids. Am blessed with 34yrs of my "proxy grandma". Even worse on my friend tho since his birthday was yesterday. Gonna be a rough weekend...

My 07 GT did the exact leak except water ran out.

Not to bad a fix scottydogg talked me through it. Take a bunch of stuff off clean it well and use a fel pro gasket. Mine had the aluminum oil pan so just stuck some rags in the open end when scraping to keep crap from falling in.

Yup got that exact set, water pump, thermostat/gasket, new elbows, and some more cooling system flush.

I was actually in the process with water/cleaner since last weekend. So I guess it's a good time for it to fail. My boss said I could take the day off. So I added water and drove to the parts store, then to the hardware store to get 1/4-28 3" bolts to pull the harmonic balancer. Left big puddles in both parking lots lol. Same with my driveway, but it evaporated already being just water and cleaner.

Also check out the s/c idler bracket, looking from the back. Apparently it's been leaking slowly for a while, and accumulating in the hollow part. Looks pretty gross.

Ran a few gallons of 93 today, first time in 4 years. They say it's good for cleaning out e85 gunk. Only problem is I didn't plan on it. Went to Cleveland to visit family and couldn't find an e85 station to save my life. What the hell Cleveland? There are dozens all over Columbus. Probably should have checked before I left home though...

Ran out of time to wash the GP up for the funeral so I decided I was gonna take the Caddy. Well, that seems to be an epic fail. It's been sitting for the last 2 weeks (just didn't need to drive it). I noticed lately it had a rough idle at startup but I figured it was due for plugs at 122K now and just blew it off. Drives just fine once it idles down. Even fixed the coolant leak (loose hose clamp) and not loosing coolant. FF to this am and I got surrounded by a cloud of white smoke at startup. It finally stopped and I drove about a mile from the house and the "check coolant level" message came up on the IP. FML... Came back home and grabbed the 2014 Camaro vert that I'm working on and took it instead.

I haven't had the energy to look at it yet, but my gut tells me I just inherited a HG rebuild on a N*. I can't think of anything else that would cause that much smoke from the exhaust. I'll have to fire it up and see if the tank shows bubbles and then test the coolant for exhaust gases. Got it with 118K on it and have been giving it a shakedown run up to the 122K it has on it now. Really didn't expect to have this happen since it's the 2nd rev. of the headbolt design but they were still known to fail before GM finally got it right the 3rd time around using a longer/coarse threaded bolt vs. the fine thread bolts. I hope I'm wrong.

I guess on the plus side it was nice to drive around in a drop top today even under the circumstances. Was able to give my niece her first ride ever in a 'vert and she had a blast. Showed up at lunch after the service and both kids (mine and my niece) had all kinds of messed up hair, lol... They kept sitting up and looking back at cars around us and making silly faces and whatnot, lol. I will say that the 3.6 in this car pulls better than I expected and is pretty fun once you get into the upper RPM's.

Sure sounds like a HG. My neighbors N* has had it's fair share of issues too. No experience with.them.myself, though. Sorry about your loss.

Finally took the time to wire up the stereo properly in the '06 GP. Used an "Add-a-fuse" and piggy back off the airbag circuit. No need to cut the dash up and into the ignition cylinder wiring

Put new rear brakes and rotors in the 03 GTP. Not much left there.
