My cousin works at a Mavis shop and can get me a moog hub assembly for less than $70, so I was going to go that route.

I had a Moog rear hub fail, but had it warrantied without issue. My Moog front hubs are still going strong years later.

Moog it is then. Can't wait to get this fixed and get rid of that awful "wah wah wah wah" noise, especially at 35mph.

This has nothing to do with working on my car, unfortunately...

Wife hit a deer last night on her way home from work in her Chrysler 200. I expected carnage. Bent the license plate and broke the headlight lense plastic out. I can get a new light for less than my deductible. But good god replacements are pricey. OEM is $350+. I went to rock auto and got a TYC for $175. Also ordered a hub assembly and tie rod for the GP.

Think I hear a growling wheel bearing. I hope I'm wrong.

Also picked up a new wiper motor module; getting tired of intermittently working intermittent wipers.

I'm in a predicament...from rockauto, I can get an acdelco wheel hub assembly and a moog outer tie rod for $130 shipped. From autozone, I can get a moog wheel hub assembly and duralast tie rod for $185, and my cousin can get me a discount. Idk if I should just buy them through rockauto, and get them from auto zone.

What is the discount from your brother? From what I've heard about Duralast, it is no better or worse than Moog, so I'd go with whatever is the cheapest.

Even better, go to Advance Auto's website. Use code TRT30. You can get the Moog wheel bearing for around $98. They have a Driveworks brand tie rod end. You can get that for $17. Grand total would be around $115 plus tax.

Looks like that code only works if you are a speed perks member, which I am not.

The discount under his name is unknown. Kinda one of those "we'll see when we check out" kind of deals

You do not need speed perks to use it. Its been around since before speed perks. You just need to make a log on, voila.

Well I got my wheel bearing and tie rod for $115 shipped thru auto zone and rock auto. I think my passenger side bearing is going too. Guess we'll see after I replace one. Gonna have a lot of stuff being shipped to the house in the next few days lol bunk beds for the kids, headlight for the chrysler, bearing, tie rod. Possibly another bearing and tie rod.

I've had very hit and miss reliability from Duralast parts. I would know because I install them almost daily lol. We often replace the wheel bearings 2 years later, and we have had some tie rod ends and ball joints get loose after only a year or two. We actually had one or two Duralast ball joints loose right out of the box. Install it, assemble everything, grease it and the joint jumps up as you pump grease into it lol. Also I noticed on the Duralast parts that do come with grease fittings, make sure to add plenty of grease. I'll sometimes grease them before installing them, on the ones you can lift the boot to see the joint. I'll watch while I pump grease into it, and only stop when I see some come through. A pair of ball joints took like 10 pumps for any grease to surround the joint. Good thing I watched that, I would have only done like 3.

Just ordered another moog bearing and moog tie rod for sh!+s and giggles. I know there's been some discussion on bearing torque. What the new torque spec for an 03 grand prix? I want to make sure they are preloaded correctly to avoid premature failure.

118 ft/lb is the latest torque specs. There is no pre-load on these bearings, just tighten the nut and move on.

Finally got my gauges in and wired. Tuesday I go through the grommet and hook the stuff up on the other end.
I can't get below a 3.4 pulley with my mods, it will be interesting to see my AFR.
