why is that little butterfly looking thing there for anyway.
Fckn drove me nuts looking under the hood everytime I stopped..duh

For whatever reason it was kicked in a bit with the inside non brake pad contact area slightly ballooning from rust.
Used a mini pry bar to bend it.

I can't remember now. For some reason I want to say it has to do with the abs harness or something.

    Dodge truck stuff today.

My hood hinge snapped on the passenger side (the driver side doesn't look far behind), and every time I hit a bump my truck would pop in the steering, so I got a steering shaft from Dorman at work, and when I took the old steering shaft out I noticed it was about 1/4" from being completely maxed out in length, so I wasn't about to put the exact same length Dorman part on there. So I went and ordered a Borgeson 000950 steering shaft as it is 4" longer.

    So today i successfully
pa inted the hood hinge, installed the hood hinge, adjusted the hood, ordered the new steering shaft, finished the led turn signal upgrade, rubbing compound and wax on the headlights (look fricken great), new fog light's installed, new cup holders installed.

The only things I couldn't do today was sway bar end links, steering shaft install, roof console door replacement, bed cleaning, and exhaust tightening. I have o2 sensors as well but I think they got removed by previous owner so I'll have to replace the y-pipe to get rid of those pesky engine codes.

Drove the car the route I'll be taking to get to school for the next few years. It's mostly highway driving so the mpg went up a whole lot.

    Amendment and clarification:

In regards to the steering shaft, I've been informed that it doesn't telescope while driving and it doesn't move, although I do plan on adding more body lift so I needed more room seeing as I am already at max shaft length at stock lift.

    Nice!

Low fuel light; I had a race in my old Civic with the low fuel light on. She coughed and sputtered around 5000rpm. You must have more gas than I did. LOL

I drove it today for the first time in a couple days. The trans is not quite totally filled, but way better feeling.

Also logged a little with Torque on my Stock Car. 5* at the shift, boost looked good, timing was really advanced at times. Interesting.

No doubt GMs solution having one part fit 20 different models.

In our case, or my 04, just a useless annoyance piece hanging there..... or am I wrong

I finally fixed a large number of things that I've been meaning to...

The battery connections, with lots of dielectric grease.

The fender well ground point, new bolt, washers, and more dielectric grease. Lol

Put in the extra 12v sockets that I've had in the console bin for 6 months, now I can finally charge my phone AND power something else...like a laptop.

More gratuitous pics of my expanded power capacity. Lol

All in all a good day.

04+ must be different then. I only have one "tab" on mine, and it sits at 2 oclock on the drivers side and 10 oclock on the passenger.....

Waiting for new fan assembly and radiator for the GXP. In the meantime my trans took a $#!+ in the Silvy, $2000 for a complete rebuild. Guess I can't complain,I got 152k out of it.

Failed getting motor mount out, I did get o2 extension on. Changed the driver side strut mount and it went pretty smooth until the drive home. I hit a low spot and now it just creeks. Thinking maybe I didn't have the spring seated just right and when I hit the low spot it slipped. So I need to Jack the car back up and take it apart. I hate working on stuff anymore. Easier to pay to have it done.

Drove it to the bike trail at Wolf Lake, Indiana. Other then that nothing. I really need to spend the time fixing it more, cuz mannn does it need a lot of work. (heater core, fuel leak, rust, rack and pinion, etc. and etc.)
