Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
They start, you just gotta want harder lol.
The GT drives much better after slotting front struts. Now I need to actually measure the toe and... maybe do something. Steers and coasts easily and quietly except for brakes a little. Its getting better in baby steps.
Posted a bunch of Camaro and Mustang pics in the work junk thread just now.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Going to finish the impala today hopefully. did the hard stuff already, pressure regular, fuel filter that was rusted to all hell. Driver side sway bar linkage, the tie rod nut is just spinning now after breaking it loose, so ill have to grind that little **** off.
passenger side is the same, tie rod ends, sway bar links, i got to put air filter in. Put the mirror on the side mirror. put the two rims on the other side.
Should be good to go get cleaned up and drive. need to spray the car off a bit as gas was pissing all over the underside.
may go look at a 01 gt red sedan. it has rebuilt title. the hood is dented up from a deer, and it needs a wheel bearing or two. told him around 500$ i could give him if thats only thing thats wrong with it. 160K miles on it. sunroof and bose are only options it has.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Changed the plugs and wires over the weekend. It was a bit of a rough go lol, the first plug I removed had the rust build up so bad almost couldn't get the socket on. Got that one out and then the second plug actually had a crack in the porcelain, and then the third plug the porcelain actually came out while the threaded part was left in the head, so took a bit of work but got it out. They were the original plugs in the car so I'm glad I have done all the maintenance to the car since I got it as I have a feeling the previous owner just got in and drove the car, but it's now running synthetic with new plugs, new air cleaner, new wire and new tranny fluid.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Boo, went to a scrap yard that had a 33k mile axle for $35. Showed up and this guy brought out the most rusted pile of junk I've ever seen, it literally looked like it sat in the rain for years. The seal surface was so pitted and rusted from sitting it there was no way you could clean it up.
Oh well, suppose I'll just warranty this Napa junk AGAIN.....

W bodies and aftermarket axles..
You gotta check your axle boots for leakage as much as you check your oil. If it's leaking then quickly change just the boot and you're golden. That's what I live by after seeing people's experiences on here lol. The inner isn't hard.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
I ran mine at least 30k with grease gone from them before I got issues lol
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Yeah stock axles are tough, if only the boots were.
Kinda like most GM stuff. The 3800s are tough, if only the intake gaskets were.
Also this happens from time to time

Google "Mini 0803". I got one a few years ago for around $110 and love it. I think they are up to model 0807 or 0809 now.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Replaced the fuel filter.
Replaced the transmission filter and fluid.
Replaced the right cv shaft.
Replaced the right front wheel bearing.
The shaft was vibrating something nasty, so now I only have a minor vibration, which is most likely the left cv shaft. I didn't want to change the bearing, but I pinched the wire when I installed it last year. Gotta say though, it is good to have no ABS or TRAC light on. LOL
Got to go for a ride in my buddies 2015 GMC Canyon. Damn fine ride. If I had that kind of money I would consider one.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Spent a hour or so after work disassembling the motor, got the top half removed (heads/lim/sc/timing cover etc)
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

I bought this one a while ago. Now hopefully it's still the same actual cam, and cheap dash cams can be hit and miss, but I have one and it's a really great cam for just over $20
Here's my latest bad drivers video, clips with the black outlined stamp at the bottom right are that cam.
