Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Welp, got an uncle's funeral to attend in KS so I think maybe I'll have a look around the GTP for roadworthiness issues today. At least gas ain't too awful high.
BB, I've shipped to Blaine / Canada before and thats just a wierd arrangement, isn't it? If I was you I'd ditch the address pic but thats just me.
Kaiser, allow me to introduce you to my good friend...

After doing that bumper with a razor blade I think I'm going to invest in one of those next time I do something like this, lol.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0

Weird? How so? I'm not worried about the pic. The address is a PO box that only I can pick up from (photo id required), so let the scammers try and scam. LOL
Yet I felt compelled to edit the pic. <shaking head> LOL
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Those blades are great for cutting up for other projects too. LOL

Wierd because people go to the US border to get their stuff and dodge fees, thats all. Its probably something I just don't understand correctly but yes thought it was wierd in the sense of why would you not buy it in your own country? Personal info instinct on the address thing, maybe its just me being paranoid but I'm OK with that. Not trying to ruffle feathers just some folks don't seem to know better than to put too much out there.
Bondo spreaders have lots of uses too. I chop them up to suit different tasks sometimes.

Ah, gotcha. I guess you need to live here to experience and feel the pain. LOL
The stuff I got yesterday was around $65 US, which is around $90 CDN. If I were to have had it shipped into Canada, I would get charged more for shipping, then brokerage and tax on top; probably be in around the $130-150 range CDN landed here. I always try and buy Canadian, and am in the automotive biz, so get killer deals, but we have limited selection compared to the US, so some things I just can't get here. And of course our government rapes us at the border on ALL shipments. When I drive across, I have a Nexxus Pass which gives me quick access across the border, and coming back into Canada, if you have under $100 or so, they wave you through. And for me to get from work or home to the border takes around 20-30 minutes.
Gas in Blaine yesterday was $1.93-2.46/gallon. That works out to be $.55-.65 /liter. Gas up here is $1.10/liter. I want to support my Country, but if I can save a buck or 20, I'm gonna. :th_thumb-up:
When I lowered the car and got new struts, my best deal up here was around $650-700. I got all but the coils from RockAuto, $400. I did get dinged at the border and had to pay $40 CDN in tax. That is still a huge savings.
I could go on, but i think I have painted you a nice picture. :D

Yeah I get it. Just amazing that it has to be that way but it does.
Changed GTP oil at 2,500 miles this time, I'm almost at 228K. Wash job coming right up. No loose wheels or low tires so I reckon its ready for whatever. Ready as its gonna get lol

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Other 2 rims came in today I should be happy but...
heard the noise that nobody likes to hear.. knock knock, checked what I could while at work and it's coming either from the pan or flexplate. borrowing a trailer from work tomorrow and pulling it to the house. Terrible day,
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Oh **** man. Sorry to hear. Here's hoping for a loose TC bolt or something?
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Ehh me too, I was pissed but at the same time it won't make it go away, I'll deal with it, I had it on the lift couldn't see any cracks in the flexplate and bolts seemed tight, and doesn't go away if you hold the rpms. I was happy it happened when it did after all I was close enough to the job to get it there, I take the interstate home and I'm currently phone less so if it went completely while on the interstate I'd be in a pickle. So I'm fortunate enough for that, that's what happens when I wash it and buy it nice things I guess the new rims will sit in the box for a while lol

For sure.
On another note, on my drove home from work today the rear brakes started "grinding" at most stops. It comes and goes, so I will have to check the pads as soon as the rain stops. I have some Wagner Ceramics sitting here waiting to go into use.

Dammit man. Look at the bright side, nobody ran into it. May your hunt be short and the find be good.

On the '04: Wet sanded the crap out of my bumper, swapped spoilers to my SPO, put a sticker on the rear window, did some miscellaneous work up front to prep for paint and putting the header panel on.

Had that happen to me once. Rear brake started randomly grinding. It must have been a small pebble or something because just as randomly as it started, it stopped.

I'm not that lucky. LOL
Turns out it was the left rear inner pad. All the friction material was gone, because the caliper was sticking due to a lightly seized lower caliper bolt. I messed up the threads on the bolt getting it out, so I chased and cleaned them as best I could for a short term repair. It is moving freely, but not as free as the rest, so it will be a problem again soon if I leave it. And new Wagner Thermo Quiet pads went in on both sides.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Removed snow tires.
Installed wheel spacers.
Replaced rear brake pads.
Installed summer tires.
Removed 3.3K fog light bulbs.
Installed 5K fog light bulbs.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Put rear glass on the camaro, then had to trailor it home. I think the problem is fuel flow or the throttle body needs to be rebuilt

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
My wipers got all jacked up the other day on the 02. I left them up overnight, in the morning I turn it on, and not only did they not park all the way down, the passenger one was much higher than the drivers side. Great. Went to work like that, messed with them in the parking lot, no luck. Came back to it on lunch and noticed they were parked, guess some ice melted and both moved down a few inches. Of course the passenger one was still higher than the drivers side but did move down. So I brought it in the shop, and it seemed that the wiper arm spun on the shaft again. I "fixed" it once already. This time used loc tite and extra tin foil lol.
