It all depends. I'd love a 96 RT/TT because there was only 57 of them made. 99 VR4's are rare as well, but had 287 made, so not quite as rare. If it wasn't 3000 miles away I would have gotten a 92 RT/TT a few months back to build up.
Body parts are interchangeable between the two cars so you can achieve any look you really want. My Stealth has 99 3000GT front bumper, 1st gen RT side skirts/door caps, 96 RT spoiler, 94-99 3000GT rear bumper, and JDM GTO taillights.
In the end, for me there isn't a right answer for your question. When I finally do buy a TT to build, I will go with the best deal I can find on the cleanest car I can find, whether is be a RT or VR4

I think for me, I would go with a VR-4, just because I feel like most people know what a Dodge is. Like you said, the body parts are interchangeable and they look identical, but I feel when people see the brand, Dodge or Mitsubishi, I think when they see a Dodge, they're like "Oh, another Dodge," but if they see a Mitsubishi, they're like "That's a pretty cool car." (There aren't that many Mitsubishi's compared to Dodge). I will do the same thing, if I see a nice car from a distance and then I see it's a KIA or something, I blow it off, but if it was a Hyundai, I would think it's cooler. I don't know if this makes sense, but it's a preference thing like you said.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
LOL on the Hyundai comment. It's a cool car to you, but it's still an entry level POS to someone who was starting to drive when Hyundai was first importing into the US. They followed Honda and Subaru's business model to gain traction.
Import something cheap.
In Hyundai's case..you could buy a new car for something like $8K
Improve quality over time
It's been years and they have
Wait until people forget it was/is a crappy car and make billions
Looks like it's working.

My insurance classed my Bronco as a "station wagon" due to it having a back seat. It was a tad more than 6" off the ground though. LOL
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
My Bronco II was classified as a station wagon as well and it had 3" lift, 31" tires, etc.

Ya, same here. The best part is that some shops think that these "station wagons" are to be inspected as a car. Um, NO! LOL

The Gen. Coupe Turbo and the Gen. sedan are good cars. The Gen. sedan is pretty damn good in my opinion. My Dad was gonna buy that or a Toyota Avalon. He chose the Avalon. But Hyundai steps above KIA.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
If you say so..
In my eyes.. they are still crap cars

That's because all you see in your eyes are Special Olympic rings on overpriced luxury cars.

I know. But Hyundai uses better engines and I think their build quality is better, interior wise. Kind of like Toyota and Lexus, Lexus is much better.

Doesn't it have the Mitsubishi emblem on the bumper?
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
The Stealth is a Mistubishi though. Same way the Ford Probe was a ...uh Mazda I think. The Chevy Nova of the late 80's was a Toyota.
Hyundai ... is a higher end Daewoo

There is an embossment where an emblem should go that was filled in.

Yep, the Stealth was built in Japan alongside the 3000GT
