Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Got a small list......
Fog lights: the OE fuse under the hood blew. Could barely tell visually, but it had no continuity. Looked for a reason why it blew, but didn't find anything. Will keep and eye on it, but the lights are working again.
Dash cluster lights: two went out. Turned out to be my hokey repair from earlier. Re-did my hokey repair with a little less hokey. All dash lights working.
Backlit cluster signals: tried diode's on the signal wire of the front LED 3157 sockets, cluster signals dimly lit. Put diode's on the signal wire of the front LED 194 sockets, cluster signals out. YAY! Then I re-assemble, do final test, start car, dash signals dimly lit. FAWK! Most of the time they are dim only when the car is running, but sometimes they do it with the car off and park lights on. Did I saw FAWK yet? Anyways, they are dimmer than before, and I think I can live with it.
This is how bright they were:

And this is how dim they are now:

And for fun, a video showing how sometimes only the car running will make the indicators light up.

You got something interesting going on there lol, check your grounds?

Crazy, right? I'm not going to much further with this. LED's draw such little power to operate, which makes them finicky, and I don't think grounds are an issue. I do with mfg's would start putting diode's in their LED's to prevent these sorts of problems.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
I had to put load resistors in for the dim turn signal indicators to go away, diodes don't work since 1 wire is a ground at times and at other times it is +12V.

I'm fighting doing the load resistors, but they may be my last resort.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
It didn't do anything for the hyper flash, it just took away the dim LEDs. I also had to run the front 194s at all times since they wouldn't blink unless the parking lights were on. I changed the other bulbs 3156(?) to LED, too so that probably has more to do with my problems.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Spent some time today working on my tune. I put it on 93 last week cause i have a buddy from the Netherlands coming over and he is going to use it for a few days.
Didn't want to give him my E85 powered monster. More for my peace of mind then his driving skills. Got it on a 3.25, 15* timing WOT and trims looking good. Can tell a big difference between this and my normal 3.0 setup, but considering i probably took out 40+ hp, i guess that's normal. And it still pulls pretty hard and chirps the tires on the 1-2 shift.

Strange. They should have fixed the hyperflash. I went EP28.

Front is 3157. I had no issues with it and the 194 going to LED, other than the above backfeeding.
Gotta love the inconsistency of LED's. LOL
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Question for you folks, the wife's vehicle (Toyota rav4) has a small pinhole size hole in one of the metal ac lines. It's on top of the engine and I'm hoping there is a cheap and easy fix instead of replacing the entire hose and having the system evacuated and all that stuff. It's the low pressure line (thank God). So can I use some jb weld? Strong electrical tape? What can I use? Just need it make it to the fall so we can just get the entire system redone. Any ideas? Oh also it's a bend where the hole is. So it's not a straight line.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
I thought it was because they were polarized, but I picked up some non-polarized LEDs and they did the same thing. At the end of the day I think I ended up with a relay\diode on the pink ignition wire going to the PCM so whenever the PCM is on the 194s(and halos) are on, load resistors on one of the 194's power wires to ground (IIRC), diode on the 3157s, and cut a trace on the turn signal flasher\relay dealy. Diodes all over the place too.

Wrap the hole and surrounding area with JB Weld. Could hold for a while.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Ok I'll try that. Thanks.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
It could blow a hole through the jb weld before it cures, I'd take some heater hose that will fit around it, cut a small section and then cut it open. Make sure the area around the hole is clean of any dirt or corrosion. Wrap it around the area and put a hose clamp around it
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Ok that may work too, I was thinking of letting of the jb weld cure overnight. Maybe I could do both lol.

Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Well there is always pressure in the Ac system. There is more pressure on the low side when its off vs running.
Or do both lol. Put jb weld on it and clamp it.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Both it is lol

Ran a guy I work with yesterday in an Fbody Camaro...
Regal - 1
El Es Juan - 0
Time to get an intercooler on this car and hurt more feelings.
Re: What did you do to your Car today? Vol 2.0
Nothing to the Pontiac. I washed and waxed my mom's Nissan Rogue and made sure everything was good to go for her to go see some relatives.
