hey i have a completely stock gt and was wondering what some of your guys first mods were. I want to top swap it but that is down the road. I am going to install a 180 thermostat and flip the dogbones to day.

Dont waste your money on anything. Just top swap it then start modding. 90% of the mods you do to a GT will not help on a Top Swap... so just buy a top swap and do it

The tune? Thats up to you, if you know your way around a tuner tune it your self, if not and have access to someone who does, get an in car tune. Last restort, get a canned tune.

I topswapped my car about 2 years ago now and I would suggest starting off with that as well. I would also get a tune on the dyno if you can. If anything you can start with headers on your gt.

    f body brake upgrade.
still to this day the best mod i've done to my car.
they most definitely saved my arse soo many times.

also go to a local JY and find some 04 diagonal braces and a pair of strut tower braces off of an imapla or monte carlo. all can be had for pretty cheap and will help stiffen up the body. these are a fairly overlooked mod. but when i did them on my car i wasnt expecting a big difference. but there was a noticeable difference in cornering

Headers is #1 for you I think followed by a top swap then the list continues from there. Don't get a tune unless you plan to keep it l26 or NA because you will need to re tune again later.

Yes, let me rephrase. You should wait until you do the top swap to tune if that's the route ur going to take

Well then, I was going to say get a l67 or l32 from a junkyard or just take the SC, intake, and heads, and exaust manifold, (unless you get headers) and TB for like 4 to 500 I think. don't quote me on that and do it urself for cheap

see the thing is that i dont trust myself to do that. i need to find all the correct parts then it would have to be tuned too and i have no idea how to do that. i would rather have someone who knows what they are doing handle it so i dont mess anything up.

what year do you have? theres a thread on here that gives you a list of free/cheap mods that make your car look better etc. I'm not sure how to look up old threads but theres one on here somewhere

Don't put headers on it while it's NA, just wait till you're topswapping and save yourself the effort.
