So I had a series 2 l67 I believe in my 97 gtp.
I cracked a piston and it's garbage. I bought a new motor from a 2004 grand prix gt. Which 3800 motor would that be? I'm confused is it the l26, or l32?

If you purchased an N/A engine from a 2004 GT (7th gen Grand Prix) you would have an L26. The Supercharged variant was the L32.
And if you plan on installing all the heads/blower setup from your trashed 97 motor you will have what is known as a "top-swap" and will have to do a few things to make it run right w/o blowing it up again.
Might I inquire how you chipped a piston? Any mods done to the 97? Just trying to save you some future headache is all.
I blew a head gasket and it leaked into my walls and one day I used water instead of coolant. I had a 3.5 w tstat. Zzp pcm and that was it
It's pretty hard to blow a HG on these motors. I wonder if the LIM gaskets didn't let go instead. Either way, it's toast now. Do you run 91+ octane fuel? Do you have a way to scan for KR? If not, I'd suggest you get one so you don't blow the next one up. These cars knock stock, and a 3.5 on stock is probably not the best idea. And find someone who can tune it with HPT or the like. Likely you are leaving a bunch on the table with the canned ZZP tune.
Also, take a read through this thread as it will help inform/guide you through modding it properly--> http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...00-Powered-Car!!
I always run premium. Do you think a 3.8 would be okay on a top swap l26 with sd headers colder plugs tstat and a tune?
